On Tuesday, Chrissy Teigen shared the happy news that she’s expecting her second child with husband John Legend. Now we’re getting our first baby bump selfie — along with Teigen’s humorous take on having to hide her pregnancy news.
“Very excited to not have to hide this anymore,” Teigen captioned a Snapchat selfie. “Everyone I told first was like ‘uh yeah, we knew thanks.'”
The 31-year-old model got a little help from her daughter, Luna, in making the exciting pregnancy announcement. In an Instagram video of the two of them, Teigen points to her stomach and asks, “Luna, what’s in here?” and the 19-month-old excitedly replies, “Baby!”
So far, she has not shared a due date or any other details.
Just last month, in an interview with InStyle, Teigen said that she and Legend were ready to try for their second child using IVF. She also revealed that it was the last viable embryo remaining from the fertility process. “The first little girl didn’t work, and then the second is Luna,” she said at the time. The third was ready to be transferred.
Teigen has not shied away from talking about her fertility struggles or her battle with postpartum depression following the birth of little Luna. While she says that receiving a proper diagnosis and proper treatment helped immensely, she knows the risk is there for her to experience it with her second birth too. We’re wishing her all the best.
