Bringing out the best of your green eyes doesn't mean loading up on black eyeliner, y'all. Instead, turn to brightening products and hues that give a subtle contrast against your pretty peepers. Makeup Academy Pro Correcting Crayon ($6) in Yellow: Highlighter isn’t the only product that can brighten things up; Burton actually uses a yellow-hued color corrector. “I tap a touch of yellow into the inner corners of the eyes and around the nose to open up the area and bring out the yellow undertones in green eyes,” she tells us.
Maybelline The City Mini Eyeshadow Palette ($6) in Graffiti Pop: This pigment-packed palette features six bold colors that you can mix and match, but pay special attention to those purples — which Burton says are the best go-to colors for green eyes. “The way I take this look to the next level is by not only applying it all over the lid but by using a damp eyeliner brush and applying the plum shadow on the lower lashline,” she explains.
Milani STAY PUT QuickGlide Eyeliner ($6) in Hooked on Espresso: Instead of reaching for black to define your eyes, Burton suggests opting for something softer, like using brown eyeliner in the upper waterline. “Bringing in brown is a great way to enhance the color of green eyes while opening them up,” she says. Since you’ll probably be swiping on black mascara, brown liner breaks up your look a bit.
NYX Face and Body Glitter ($6) in Copper: The contrast between a burnt orange-y copper and green eyes is striking, but a shimmery touch of glitter amps it up even more. Burton recommends placing orange just in the center of the eyelid to complement green eyes. “To keep this look effortless, but still special, use orange gold in a sparkle,” she says.
Revlon PhotoReady Kajal Eye Pencil ($10) in Matte Marine: Switch things up with a punchy pop of bright blue. “This bright turquoise teal is a fun way to bring on serious eye envy,” says Burton. “Using green liner on green eyes can make them look drab, but this bright sister color helps them shine."
