Have You Ever Seen a Robot Decorate an Easter Egg? Meet the Egg-Bot.
We realize it’s a little bizarre to have a crush on a robot, but we can’t help but blush at the sight of our newest geeky toy. Meet the Egg-Bot, a robot designed to make all your Easter egg decorating dreams come true. You have those dreams, right? Well if you don’t yet, you probably will after you see this sucker in action. And if you’re local to SF, you can even try it yourself by hitting up one of our Easter egg decorating classes at Brit + Co SF! Now, let’s see eggs-actly how this thing works.
First things first, you’ve gotta put this bad boy together. Allow yourself 90 minutes to make it happen. We followed these instructions found online (nothing comes in the box). As you can see, there are A LOT of parts.
Hand modeling by our in-house robotics expert, Mike Schierberl.
Now here come the robotics…
And the finishing touch, the perfect pen for decorating eggs. We tried using paint pens, thicker Sharpies and felt markers, but a fine point black Sharpie did the best job. You can find tons of egg designs on Thingiverse.
Now, let ‘er rip!
How amazing is that level of detail? If you ask Mike and our photographer Kurt, the designs available online are definitely not foolproof. It took us a few experiments to get this collection of egg-cellent eggs.
From nutrition facts to the Periodic Table to patterns up the wazoo, we tried a little bit of everything.
