Caps have been thrown in the air, gowns have been thrown in the trash, and incredibly moving speeches have been given. Whether you're graduating from 5th grade, high school, university, or grad school, graduation is a time of new beginnings.

And what would a new beginning be without a dose of new technology? With help from YouTube's new and improved playlist features, we've gathered a collection of the best commencement speeches from the last decade and created one super-inspiring video playlist sure to make you shed a few tears.

Yes, our list has a definite tech bend to it, with speeches by Eric Schmidt, Bill Gates, Marissa Mayer and two by Sheryl Sandberg. But we've also got a little humor and drama for you, with speeches by Ellen DeGeneres, J.K. Rowling and Lisa Kudrow.

We particularly love this one by Steve Jobs from Stanford's 2005 commencement, which includes one of Brit & Co.'s favorite mottos: Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.

And this one by Conan O'Brien at Dartmouth in 2011. Work hard, be kind, and amazing things will happen.

Be sure to check our playlist in a couple weeks for the best graduation speeches of 2012! Got a favorite commencement speech we missed? Leave us a link in the comments below or send it our way on Twitter. (Thumbnail image source: Stanford)
