HBO Max is hands down my favorite streaming platform of all time (Sorry, Netflix.) I’m an HBO girly through and through, thanks to the prestige television shows we’ve been blessed with by this service, from Sex and the City to The White Lotus, Girls, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Sopranos, and Succession. Honestly, there are so many HBO original gems to choose from, which is why I consistently find myself returning to this streaming service above all others. Good news, DC fans! Peacemaker, starring John Cena, Danielle Brooks, and Jennifer Holland, is back for a second season, with new episodes airing throughout September on the streaming platform. While Cena is best known for his wrestling career as well as his transformation into film with more comedic roles, he’s now switching gears with a gut-wrenching, dramatic portrayal on the hit series. Honestly, what can’t this man do?

If you loved Mare of Easttown, then you'll definitely wanna check Task out! The Philadelphia-set show follows Tom Brandis, (Mark Ruffalo), a former priest who took up a career at the FBI. Tom's team is following a string of drug house robberies — and they just so happen to be lead by local garbage man Robbie Prendergrast (Tom Pelphrey). The cast is star-studded, the story is clasic Brad Ingelsby, and basically I'm already sat for this one.

Our favorite Barbie President, Issa Rae delves deep into the history of Black television with this docuseries. As a multi-hyphenate writer, director, and actor herself, Issa pays tribute to the Black creators who came before her, honoring their contributions to the industry she loves so much today.

Halloween Wars (Season 15) — September 22, 2025
Sometimes, you just need to lose yourself in a good old-fashioned baking show- with a festive twist. Whenever I want to turn my brain off and just focus all my attention on lighthearted TV, I put on Halloween Wars. It’s perfect with the approach of Autumn looming just around the corner, and it showcases some of the most artistically brilliant cake designs I’ve ever seen on a baking program.
