Topshop’s New Line Is Eco-Friendly AND Stylish
Calling all you Topshop fangirls and stylistas: We’ve got one more reason for you to love the British fashion giant. Topshop has just launched Topshop Reclaim, a sustainable line that’s packed with fashion-forward pieces. You can expect to find the looks have won over the sartorial sensibilities of stylish ladies everywhere, only now they’ll also satisfy your #ecofriendly lifestyle.
With demand for ethical and environmentally conscious products on the rise, designers and fast-fashion companies are slowly but surely starting to listen. Brands like Topshop are re-evaluating their waste streams and scrutinizing their production methods and materials. And while there’s still a long way to go, this is definitely a step in the right direction.
Topshop Reclaim, now available in-store and online, grew out of the brand’s desire to minimize waste while continuing to create versatile and stylish duds. The new line is derived from Topshop’s leftover stock, upcycling spare materials like cotton, denim and jersey to create everything from sassy jumpsuits to ’70s-inspired button-front pinafores and flirty, floral tops. The line also boasts the Topshop price tag we love, with items ranging from $20 – $150, meaning you won’t have to break the bank to update your wardrobe essentials.
Topshop Reclaim is the company’s fourth collaboration with Reclaim to Wear, a company created by eco-label From Somewhere. Reclaim to Wear specializes in creating garments from surplus fabrics and unsold products, as well as devising design solutions that seek to minimize a company’s waste production streams. After three successful capsule collections, the decision to turn it into its own line seemed like an obvious one. With pieces flying off the shelves, it already looks like the venture was a good one. We don’t know about you, but we’re pretty excited to see what Topshop Reclaim has in store for us next.
What’s your take on Topshop’s newest line? Which pieces are you most excited about? Do you have a favorite eco-conscious brand? Tell us in the comments!
