11 Ways to Be a Corpse Bride This Halloween

Picking the right Halloween costume is a difficult task. You can go for something nostalgic, something classic or something super simple. The endless options can become overwhelming. We say, embrace the scary side of the holiday this year. Because c’mon, you don’t get to wear fake blood everyday, now do you? For an outfit that is a little glamorous but still totally haunting here are 11 ways to be a bride back from the dead this Halloween.

1. Corpse Bride: Being dead never looked so good. Make Tim Burton proud by channeling one of his most popular characters this Halloween. This look will have you feeling blue in all the right ways. (via AWSM Blog)

2. Pretty Zombie Makeup: Sure, maybe zombies eat brains for dinner, but they might want to look nice while they do it on their big day. Take inspiration from Brit for a zombie look that is a little less gory and a lot more glam. (via Brit + Co)

3. Zombie Bridesmaids: We know all about the back-from-the-dead bride, but what about her badass bridesmaids? Forget the couples costume. Here’s a fun look for you and your favorite group of ladies. (via Costume Prize)

4. Silver Bride Costume ($40): We aren’t always the biggest fans of pre-made costumes but this one is definitely a keeper. This lady is obviously totally scary and ghostly now, but we get the feeling she was a class act in her former life.

5. Bride of Frankenstein: Kate Beckinsale is killing it in this black and white getup. Channel the classic movie character for a look that is a little rock n’ roll but still very dead. (via Zimbio)

6. Rockabilly Bride of Frankenstein: If you want to put your own spin on the costume, here’s the perfect way to do so. Transport the bride of Frankenstein from Switzerland to the local sock hop with this ’50s interpretation. (via Halloween Forum)

7. Zombie Bride Makeup: Step your pretty zombie up a notch with some fake blood! Take some tips from this video to add some gorgeous gore. (via Wonder How To)

8. Dia de los Muertos Bride: Here is a great option if you want to play dead, but still incorporate some color. If you’re not sure where to start on the face makeup, check out our tutorial on how to paint a candy skull. (via Michele Butler Events)

9. Bed Sheet Bride: This costume doesn’t have to drain your bank account. In fact, if you have an old, white bed sheet you’re all set. This style guru shows you how to transform linens into a tattered gown and use red lipstick for blood. (via YouTube)

10. Dead Flapper: The flapper girl costume has been done to death. And so what better way to go about it than to become a ’20s bride, hungry for brains? This look is super fun and would be much more moveable than strutting around in a giant gown all night long. (via The Uptown Bride)

11. Diva Bride: If you don’t want to go too gloomy but are looking for something a little tamer than a candy skull face, follow Christina Aguilera’s lead with a colored wig! It is a subtle way to make things more cheerful even though you’re, well you know… dead. (via Brit + Co)

Are you considering dressing as a dead bride this Halloween? Which costume idea is your favorite?

Chilly weather is always followed by comfort food; it’s how we manage to get through those months of endless gloom. Though we love comfort food, it catches up to us after a while and leaves us feeling rather sluggish. We know how weird it sounds, but warm salads are the best for this time of year. They’re the perfect option for when it’s absolutely freezing outside but you’re still wanting to chow down on a healthy dish.

Typically, warm salads leverage roasted, fried or baked components that are used to top a hearty bed of lettuce, among your other fave salad toppings. These recipes are sure to give you a boost of warmth and nutrient-dense bites. Try out a warm salad for your next dinner! We’ve got some hearty winter salads that will warm you up and keep your belly satisfied.

What is the definition of a warm salad?

Warm salads are just what they sound like. Picture your favorite cold salad, but transformed into the perfect dish to enjoy during the winter. Warm salads typically feature heartier, cooked ingredients that add flavorful warmth such as meat, potatoes or other roasted vegetables. You can steam, roast or fry the main source of warmth in your salad recipe. A warm salad is made to keep you toasty and satisfied during the cold months when you’re craving greens.

Can salad be eaten hot?

Salads can absolutely be eaten hot, but not extremely hot. We recommend adding cooked and warmed components to your salad, skipping the greens from being cooked. That way your meal will still retain some of that crunch from a salad we all know and love, and remain cozy. It is entirely safe to eat a warm salad, which also means you can reheat your salad dishes without any worries.

Should salad be warm?

Not every salad you prepare has to be warm. The temperature you serve your salad is up to you! The recipes we listed are the best pairings for a warm salad, but can also be eaten cold if desired. Most salads are served cold but warm salads are a great way to get those greens in during the winter.

Do I serve salad warm or cold?

The temperature of your salad is ultimately your choice! We recommend a salad built with warmer components like roasted proteins or vegetables for wintertime, and saving super cold salads for summer. If you’re craving a heartier meal but still want to eat healthy, opt for a warm salad.

This year, we’re honoring the fact that Christmas looks a little bit different for everyone. Whether you have an entire feast planned, or are just happy to fly solo for the holiday, there’s always a chance that you may need an easy snack or meal to tie you over between the chaos – plus, missing out on your daily Starbucks fix due to store closures is just no fun!

  • Domino's
  • Jersey Mike’s

When we're dressing up for Halloween, we love a good pop culture costume, TV character costume, or Disney princess. But the items needed for those costumes aren't as versatile as we'd like them to be, considering a giant ballgown can't necessarily be worn in real-world situations. That's where this F1 driver (or Formula 1 driver) costume comes into play. No race car required.

Every element of this costume can be reworn, which is a big plus, and you might already have a lot of it in your closet. The red jumpsuit is a statement if we've ever seen one, and it's as comfy as it is eye-catching. It's also a super-easy outfit to put together (we're talking under 10 minutes), which makes it a great option for any last-minute Halloween parties you get invited to *and* anyone who hates dressing up.

F1 Racecar Driver Halloween Costume

The bold red of this look is the perfect color to match the ferociousness of an F1 driver. Unzipping the top of the jumpsuit, as well as adding a bold lip, beach waves, and a fresh manibring some femininity to the look if you want extra detail. However, you'll look just as good fresh-faced with a messy bun if that's more your speed...no pun intended.

The great thing about wearing a jumpsuit for your Halloween costume is that you only need to worry about one base instead of multiple pieces. Roll up the sleeves if you don't want to deal with extra fabric near your wrists or if you want to wear bracelets. Any details on the jumpsuit — including zippers, buckles, or snaps — will give it even more of a utility look.

In terms of accessories, feel free to break out your favorite fall shoe trend, whether it's white boots or metallic shoes for some shine. We'd recommend keeping the color palette and textures simple so that the jumpsuit really takes center stage. Oh yeah, and don't forget the racing helmet.

Whether you want to do a fall makeup look or go sans makeup for this Halloween costume is totally up to you, but you can't go wrong with some messy waves and a red lip. It's classic!

More F1 Driver Fashion Inspo

With the popularity of the F1 drivers — and F1 racing in general — we've gotten a whole new wave of racing-inspired fashion. We're talking checkered prints, baggy pants, and huge jackets that create a look that feels laidback and edgy at the same time. You don't have to be an F1 or NASCAR driver to knock these looks out of the park.

Play with silhouettes when you pair a baggy jacket with a tighter bodysuit.

Give racing fashion a chic upgrade when you dress in head-to-toe black. You still have that laidback feel, but the monochromatic 'fit keeps things cohesive.

Just because you're wearing cargo pants doesn't mean you have to go super casual. A pop of color and even a pair of heels can dress up your look in a totally unexpected way.

[pinterest_embed https://www.pinterest.com/pin/306807793364716803/?nic_v3=1a7Gn3uBy expand=1 site_id=19876466]

If you're not too sure about the '90s feel of baggy jackets and sweatpants, opt for a cropped and fitted leather jacket that still looks amazing.

Blake Lively is as multifaceted as they come. She's an actress who has starred in titles like Gossip Girl, A Simple Favor, and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (plus the upcoming adaptation of It Ends With Us). She's the founder of Betty Buzz, which has a variety of non-alcoholic mixers that taste just as good on their own as they do with liquor. And she's also a mom. Lively has been outspoken about protecting her children from the paparazzi, making rare public appearances with them for events like her husband Ryan Reynolds' Hollywood Walk Of Fame Ceremony.

When Lively and Reynolds seemingly announced the birth of their fourth child on February 12, we melted. Here's everything you need to know about Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively's kids.

What Has Ryan Reynolds Said About Raising Their Kids?

Per People, Ryan Reynolds has made it clear he and Blake are wholly invested in the kids' daily lives. The doting husband and father enjoys the moments of "walking them to school and walking them back" as it deepens their bond. More than anything, Ryan and Blake's main goal is to make sure they teach their kids how to be introspective with Ryan saying, "...that's the thing we sort of hang our hat on the most is self-awareness with our kids."

However, that doesn't mean Blake and Ryan don't absolutely love being parents. "We're very excited [and] we wouldn't do this four times if we didn't love it," he says in an interview with CNBC's Power Lunch. "Everybody's doing great. Everybody's actually doing fantastic. I think if we hadn't figured it out by now, I think we'd be in deep, deep trouble."

"It's a zoo over here," he jokes. "This is my office here, this is where I'll probably — to be honest, I'll probably spend the rest of my life in here."

We love how much energy Ryan and Blake are pouring into their kids. It's always beautiful when parents are able to be present with their kids and teach them how to be present with themselves.

Ryan Reynolds has also mentioned how having daughters "has been such a ride." Since he comes from a family of all boys, having daughters is something that was beyond his wildest dreams! “I love being a girl dad,” Ryan tells Access. “I have three daughters, which I never in a million years would imagine.”

Did Blake Lively Have A 4th Baby?

Photo by Emma McIntyre/Getty Images for American Cinematheque

Blake Lively posted a pic on Super Bowl Sunday showing what appears to be a post-baby body with the caption "Been busy."

Lively confirmed her fourth pregnancy in September 2022 when she arrived at her Forbes event in NYC cradling a baby bump and by posting her own personal photos on Instagramhoping that "the 11 guys waiting outside [her] home for a 🦄 sighting will leave [her] alone."

How Many Children Do Blake Lively And Ryan Reynolds Have?

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have four kids in their family. They welcomed their third daughter in 2019, making this new addition to the family their fourth kid.

While we know that their three eldest — James, Inez, and Betty — are all girls, the couple hasn't confirmed whether the youngest is also a daughter. Reynolds explained on the Today Show that they "never find out" until the baby is born, and whether they decide to reveal it is totally up to them.

What is the name of Blake Lively's 4th baby?

Photo by Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images

Since Taylor Swift used the three oldest girls' names in folklore, Swifties think they've guessed the name of the newest addition to the Reynolds-Lively family.

"Calling it now Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds baby is going to be named Daisy Mae," Kaitlyn Kersten tweeted after the release of Taylor Swift's Midnights in October 2022 (the name is mentioned in "You're On Your Own Kid.") While we don't have official word on what the baby's name is, we do think that James, Inez, Betty, and Daisy sound great together!

Is Taylor Swift friends with Blake Lively's kids?

The couple decided to name their daughter James after Reynolds' late father. While the name connects both James and Reynolds to his father, it also gives Lively the chance to bond with her daughter over having historically male names. "I liked having a boy's name," Lively said on Good Morning Americain 2015. "I thought I'd pass it on."

Their third daughter Betty's name is a tribute to Lively's late father. We didn't know the name of the couple's third baby until Taylor Swift used all three names in her 2020 album folklore. Swift also used James' voice at the beginning of her 2017 track "Gorgeous"!

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have decided not to hire any nannies for their kids. I feel like I could sometimes have a bit of a short fuse, but there's just been this weirdly endless supply of patience," Ryan told GQ in 2015. The actress used Instagram to admit that being a mom is hard, but she did it with her signature dry sense of humor. “BettyBooze at your service," she wrote in an Instagram Story announcing the new brand. "These are recipes I’ve been making for loved ones for years. But I have 4 kids now. And I’m tired. So here they are. In a can."

However, Lively absolutely loves motherhood, and says in a 2022 interview with Forbes that having children has made her feel more comfortable in her own skin. "Once I had children, that just became even more profound because my time was even more precious, but also I think having children for me made me feel so much more in my skin," she says. "I never felt more myself or at ease in my own body or more confident — not to say that there aren't a bevy of insecurities coming at me a million times a day, but I just feel incredibly settled."

Speaking with People in 2021, Lively also explains how important it is that her children see her accomplish things outside the home. "I want to be as present of a mother as humanly possible and I want them to feel my presence, but I also think the best way to be the best mother is to show them that you can have a life and have a passion and have an identity outside of just being a mother," Lively says.

While she acknowledges that motherhood is all-encompassing, and it looks different for everyone, she knows that having your own identity is very important. "Teaching them that they can maintain themselves and that everything is possible [is crucial]," she adds.
