This Lazy Girl-Friendly Blowout Is the Latest Styling Trend of 2016
Ahhhh, blowouts. There’s nothing quite like rolling out of bed and having *someone else* blow out your hair for you (or, fine, hacking the ‘do all by yourself at home). The dazzling look lets you focus your time + energy on your outfit and head into the day stress-free when it comes to styling your locks. While you can typically choose from a menu of styles ranging from straight-as-a-board to waves that rival Beyoncé’s, a new hairstyle trend and blowout hack has emerged this year that’s totally fresh and making lazy girls very happy.
The “bendy blowout” (that’s what we’re calling it, anyway) is here to bring you into the new year with hair that has that enviable lived-in-but-styled look, according to Glamour. This style is mostly straight (but not stick-straight) and features natural bends in the hair that break up the otherwise uniform direction — you’ll see how Lauren Conrad, Karlie Kloss and Ashley Tisdale each rocked the bendy blowout below. The bends are not necessarily evenly spaced or even facing the same direction — in fact, their mismatched quality is what really makes this hairstyle look effortless and natural.
If you have naturally straight hair, take advantage of your own style by letting it air dry and then adding in a few loose bends with a curling wand or round brush — make sure you have two or three sections that frame your face and a couple in the back to even it out. If you’re rocking wavy or curly hair on the reg, try drying your hair straighter than usual and then work with (embrace!) the natural bends that peek through your ‘do.
Oh, and don’t forget to set your alarm clock back a few minutes tomorrow, too, thanks to this lazy girl-approved style. You’re welcome!
