How Etsy Could Become the New Kickstarter With Their Latest Update
When it comes to crafts, Etsy is one of our favorite sources for inspiration. They’ve helped us trick out our weddings, give crazy memorable gifts and spookify our Halloween parties, all with funky homemade flair. On Monday, the company announced that they’re getting into the crowdfunding game with a little help from Y-O-U.
Fund on Etsy is a pilot program launched to help users crowd fund projects made by Etsy sellers. The first run of the project will go from July 16 to August 16, and during that time you can contribute to over 70 different campaigns. Here are some of our favorites:
1. Eco-friendly living art: For those of us without access to gardens.
2. Doll Butt Lollipops: For the woman who has everything.
4. Pint glass with map of your college town: A classy way to remember all the places you used to stumble around back in the day.
5. Flash drive harmonica: Perfect for when you’re working on your laptop but still want to lay down the blues.
Check out the rest of the projects here — and get to funding!
Which of these cool crafts would you buy? Tell us in the comments (or if it’s the doll butt pops, send a few to the Brit +Co San Francisco office).
