Kaley Cuoco Got in Trouble With the TSA for a Funny Reason
The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco loves her wine. So much so, in fact, that she comes prepared to deal with any tricky bottles not featuring a screw top, even while traveling. As she explained to host Jimmy Kimmel on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, however, it was this very resourceful behavior that once got her in trouble with the TSA.
Apparently, it was her boyfriend, Karl Cook, who first sensed that a TSA mishap was about to take place during a recent vacation to Australia. According to Cuoco, her man somehow managed to be selected for pat-downs on just about every trip they take — and this time was no exception.
The star was amused, but she wasn’t laughing for long. The tables quickly turned, and a TSA agent asked, “Whose bag is this? We need to look through your bag.” Apparently, the agent had some major misgivings about the not one, but TWO wine openers the star had tucked in her bag.
“She pulls out a wine opener, out of my purse. A real one! Like with arms! Like the rabbit!” she recalled. “And I was like, oh my God! That’s like a weapon!”
Unfortunately for Cuoco, further inspection also revealed another, smaller wine opener shoved into her makeup bag. “I’m like, oh my God, I’m gonna be on a no-fly list!” she told Kimmel. Luckily, the agent let her go with a scolding.
While she definitely learned her lesson, the Priceline spokeswoman said it’s done little to curb her affinity for alcohol. She’s made some adjustments, though. She still loves her wine, but she has another, hassle-free drink as a backup. “I’m into bourbon now,” she shared. “Probably because I’m not allowed to carry a wine opener, so I can just take the top off. Click. Easy!”
