I mean, I do like scary movies...

Where To Watch Every 'Scream' Movie For The Ultimate Movie Marathon

scream movies ranked
Paramount Pictures

I am obsessed with the Scream movies, since they manage to capture that perfect blend of horror and humor, which is my personal favorite genre of cinema. It’s no easy feat, yet these movies manage to do so effortlessly, which is why I watch them every single spooky season. Here’s a top-tier ranking of the Scream movies from best to worst, in preparation for Scream 7.

Neve Campbell in Scream 2

Dimension Films

1. Scream 2 — Stream on Pluto TV

While I thoroughly enjoyed the first film in the series, the second movie has an energy and excitement to it that wasn’t there in the initial movie. I feel like the second film in the installment gained a sense of confidence that the first film somewhat lacked, due to the fact that by this point, there was a sizable fanbase involved. Plus, that movie theater scene is easily one of the most thrilling/fun experiences in cinema history. I can only imagine how chaotic it must have been for the people who actually watched it in theaters.

Melissa Barrera in Scream VI

Paramount Pictures

2. Scream VI — Stream on Paramount+

I was surprised by how much I adored Scream 6, due to its nuanced characters, chilling plot lines, and nostalgic essence. It’s common for popular franchise films to lose their bite with time, but Scream 6 has proved to be just as thrilling, if not more so, than the others in the saga. I think it's safe to say Melissa Barrera will be very, very missed in this franchise.

Drew Barrymore in Scream

Dimension Films

3. Scream — Stream on Pluto TV

The first Scream film is undeniably iconic. It sets the tone for the rest of the movies for years to come, and it’s filled with unexpected twists and turns that never get old, regardless of how many times you’ve watched the flick. And starting with Drew Barrymore like that? I mean, come on! Classic!

Jenna Ortega in Scream 5

Paramount Pictures

4. Scream 5 — Stream on Hulu

I totally love Mikey Madison as well as Jenna Ortega, so getting to see these two talented ladies come together on screen is cinematic gold. The plot is a wild ride, and I love seeing familiar faces from the OG movie after so many years apart.

Courteney Cox in Scream 3

Dimension Films

5. Scream 3 — Stream on Pluto TV

Whenever Parker Posey is involved in a movie or TV project, I automatically stan. Scream 3 was insanely fun, but the script was a little less tight and more all over the place in my opinion, compared to the previously listed movies. Plus, Courteney Cox’s bangs in the movie are… the scariest part of the film. Love you, Court!

Neve Campbell in Scream 4

Dimension Films

6. Scream 4 — Stream on Tubi

Whenever I binge-watch these movies, I always find myself least excited about Scream 4, to the point where I almost always skip it. Not that it doesn’t possess the same movie magic as the aforementioned flicks, because it’s fun as a standalone movie, don’t get me wrong. Yet, simply compared to the others, it just doesn’t do it for me. Sorry, Emma Roberts!
