What to Make This Weekend: Cactus Pumpkins, a Marble Hanging Shelf + More

Well folks, we’re not totally sure when this happened, but it’s now officially October. Not only does that mean we can finally sip PSLs without shame, but it also means Halloween is just around the corner. If you love the holiday anywhere near as much as we do, we vote you start celebrating now. Whether you’re in need of a clever costume idea or a fun decorating hack, here are 10 projects to make before Monday’s return.

1. Sushi Group Costume: Don’t want to go as a Mario Party like the rest of the world this Halloween? Here’s a group costume that we’re betting no one else (except for us) has thought of. (via Brit + Co)

2. 3D Flower Art: Give an old photograph new life by skipping the basic frame and decking it out with fresh flowers. (via Bespoke Bridal)

3. Spider Crown: If you were wondering what the Halloween version of the flower crown is, I think we just found it. (via Delia Creates)

4. Latte Dog Costume: Sure, you might be dressing up like a dog this Halloween, but why shouldn’t your pup get to participate in the fun? Keep things festive by making him go as a Pumpkin Spiced Latte! (via Brit + Co)

5. Agate Wall Hanging: If you’re in need of some wall decor but you’re not feeling the weavings that are oh-so popular right now, here’s a colorful and modern alternative. (via Adorablest)

6. Taxidermy Costume: All you really need for this hilarious costume is a faux wooden plaque, some fun makeup and a really great death story. (via The Merrythought)

7. Cactus Pumpkins: If you’re having a hard time letting go of summer, keep the spirit alive by disguising your pumpkins as a group of cacti. (via Aww Sam)

8. Paper Mache Plates: In need of some unique wall decor? Create a whole new kind of gallery wall using plates, Mod Podge and paper. (via Trim Craft)

9. Marble Hanging Shelf: Although this shelf may look super swanky, all you really need is a marble tile and leather cord. (via A Bubbly Life)

10. Mindy Kaling’s Emmys Clutch: Were you drooling over that snap Mindy posted of her outfit and accessories at the Emmys? Well stop your drooling and get making, because DIYing your own is actually super easy. (via Brit + Co)
