Disney x Opening Ceremony Just Threw the Most Epic Mickey-Themed Fashion Show
As any true Disney lover knows, there’s no shortage of stylish ways to rep the House of Mouse. Whether you’re rocking a polka dot handbag from Coach, some Disney bling, or Minnie Mouse-inspired Torrid apparel, it’s easy to incorporate a little Disney magic into your wardrobe. Opening Ceremony just upped the ante, however, debuting its Disney x OC collection with an epic runway show at Disneyland (AKA the Happiest Place on Earth), and trust us when we say: It’s amazing.
The LA-based brand, known for its playful fashion finds (you may recall the Opening Ceremony x Vans glitter sneakers last year or the bejeweled Minnetonka slip-ons from 2015), celebrated Mickey Mouse’s 90th birthday in the *coolest* way, honoring the legendary character with a colorful new collection of tees, sweatpants, track jackets, and more.
The label presented its Disney-themed capsule collection at Mickey’s own Toontown in the heart of Disneyland, marking the “first time in four decades a fashion show has taken place at the park,” according to Women’s Wear Daily.
In addition to the Mickey-centric garments, the beauty looks at the show were also plenty enchanting, with models wearing mouse ear-inspired space buns and colorful glitter around their eyes.
The guest of honor, along with his long-time main squeeze, Minnie Mouse, made an appearance on the catwalk, with celebs such as Laverne Cox (a Disneyland first-timer!), Chance the Rapper, Maya Rudolph, and Fred Armisen watching from the front row.
If you missed the fun, not to worry: The full Disney x OC collection (ranging from $45 for a kids’ tee to $275 for an adult track jacket) will be available soon through Opening Ceremony and Disney’s online stores, in addition to the Disney Cruise Line.
