Check Out These DIY Recipes from Beyoncé’s Skincare Guru
There’s a lot to learn from Beyoncé, like her #girlboss lessons and how to throw a fairy party, like the one she threw for Blue Ivy. And she does all of it looking absolutely #FLAWLESS. Here are all the deets needed to make your own homemade DIY brightening mask, moisturizer and more, straight from Bey’s skincare guru, Adina Diaz, who broke it down for Perez Hilton. From red carpet appearances to pics of her living her best life, Queen B always has gorgeously glowing skin, and Adina Diaz, from the aptly named Adina Diaz Your Skincare Guru, gives the simple solutions that you’re definitely going to want to try.
TWO-INGREDIENT MOISTURIZER
“This two-ingredient, oil-based moisturizer can do it all,” Adina assures us via Perez Hilton, and that’s the kind of easy beauty-hack we like to have on hand. To start off, pop together 1/2 cup of a vegetable skincare oil of your choice and 24 drops of essential oil or blend (Adina recommends lavender or rose). Then mix, store in a jar and you’re done. The hydrating moisturizer can be used on both your face and neck after each wash.
ALL-NATURAL BRIGHTENING MASK
If you’re looking for a brightening mask to give your skin that Bey-like glow, then combine two teaspoons of organic turmeric powder (yes, turmeric powder), two teaspoons of raw honey (yum!) and one teaspoon of coconut milk. Stir ‘em up, then apply the mixture to your face and neck after cleansing each. Leave on for just five minutes, and you’re ready to show off your shine. FYI: Be sure not to get it on your clothes or white towels because it WILL stain.
TEA TREE ORANGE PEEL SCRUB
If you want to kick your skincare routine up a notch then you totally need to try out this Tea Tree Orange Peel Scrub. Mix together 24 drops of Aura Cacia organic tea tree oil, 24 drops of Aura Cacia sweet orange essential oil, four fluid ounces of aloe vera gel (Adina recommends Lily of the Desert Aloe) and four tablespoons of dried orange peel granules. Rinse your face with warm water before applying two or three teaspoons of the scrub to both your face and neck, being sure to use gentle circular motions. Finish off by rinsing with warm water and patting your silky skin dry.
24/7 FACIAL MISTS
“I am a huge fan of facial mists,” Adina adds. “When you need a picker upper, more hydration and an extra glow, mist are the way to go.” Sounds heavenly. The skincare guru recommends using mists for all sorts of reasons: setting makeup, keeping your face hydrated while out on a hot day, relieving hot flashes and battling an unfortunate hangover. Adina’s go-tos include Lotus Moon D20 Hydra Mist ($48) and evanhealy Rose Geranium Facial Tonic HydroSoul ($9+), and, frankly, both sound luxuriously awesome. We can already feel our skin glowing at the thought of these derma-delights.
