Fashionista’s Salary Survey Shows How Much Fashion Jobs Make
Whether you’ve been working in the professional world for years or you’re about to search for an entry-level job, there is one aspect of the process that remains a mystery to almost everyone: salary. Are you asking for too much? Too little? What’s everyone else making? Glassdoor is a super useful tool for jobs at major corporations but unfortunately, it often falls short for those of us working in creative fields. Enter: Fashionista’s annual salary survey.
The fashion news website, surveyed 4,500 professional working in fashion, editorial, design, creative, retail, PR and marketing jobs to help clear up that daunting ambiguity surrounding your dream job’s salary. As you might have guessed, there is a pretty dramatic range. If you’re just entering the workforce, you might want to start thinking about what your side hustle is going to be. However, for seasoned professionals, the salaries can definitely be pretty cushy. Here are the lowest and highest paying jobs from each department surveyed.
Editorial:
Assistant Market Editor – $33,000
Director Level Editor – $143,000
Design:
Assistant Technical Designer – $36,000
Design Director – $163,000
Creative:
Assistant Graphic Designer – $33,000
Creative Director – $206,000
Retail + Sales + E-Commerce:
Assistant Buyer – $46,000
Fashion Director – $120,000
Publicity:
Associate Publicist – $40,000
Vice President Publicity – $170,000
Marketing + Advertising:
Associate Marketing Manager – $43,000
Marketing Director – $122,000
