Kelly Ripa’s Family Holiday Card Features Husband Mark Consuelos With His ‘Riverdale’ Wife and Daughter
This time of year is all about family, and if you’re Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, that includes your TV family. Ripa took to Instagram on Tuesday to share her 2018 family holiday card, which features a lovely photo of Consuelos — with his Riverdale wife and daughter.
“Tired of fighting with the kids over the holiday card photo? Problem solved! Thanks @camimendes @marisolnichols @instasuelos,” Ripa wrote alongside the unconventional family photo, which shows Riverdale‘s scheming Lodge family — Veronica (Camila Mendes), Hiram (Consuelos), and Hermione (Marisol Nichols) — posing sweetly for the camera.
The text on the photo reads: “Happy Holidays, from our family to yours.” And underneath that, in fine print, are the words: “No actual wives or children were used in this photo.”
Consuelos posted the card to his own account on Tuesday evening, joking, “My poor wife has resorted to using my TV family as our holiday card. Personally, I think it’s her best work.”
Of course, Ripa also included a beautiful pic with her “actual family.” The photo shows the couple with their children Michael, Lola, and Joaquin at the Yogi Berra Museum Awards Dinner earlier this year.
Jokes aside, Riverdale has indeed become a family affair for the Ripa and Consuelos household. Not only does Consuelos star as Hiram Lodge on the show, but their son Michael portrayed the teenage version of his dad’s character in the flashback episode “The Midnight Club” on Wednesday, November 7. And more recently, it was revealed that Ripa herself would appear in an upcoming episode as Hiram Lodge’s mistress.
“Twenty-three years of auditioning for a role I was born to play,” the Live With Kelly and Ryan host quipped of the role. Riverdale has yet to announce when Ripa’s episode will air.
