Obsessed AF: This Makeup Eraser Is My Lazy-Girl Skincare Savior
I have a shameful confession to make: I only started caring about my skin a couple of years ago. Before I was a beauty-obsessed editor, my nighttime routine consisted of using just a makeup remover followed by an SPF-free moisturizer. That was it. My routine has gotten a serious upgrade thanks to an intensive 14-step Korean skincare routine that I swear by, but there are some days (actually, er, late nights) where I am just too beat to dedicate the time to the whole shebang. That’s where my latest obsession comes into play.
The Original MakeUp Eraser Makeup Remover Cloth ($20) is my answer to late-night laziness and early morning haziness that leaves no time for a full-blown regimen. This magical cloth manages to remove a full face of makeup without any additional cleanser or product. You just run it under warm water and then scrub off the day — simple as that. Somehow, the makeup magicians that live in the fabric effectively remove bold lip colors, waterproof mascara, and everything in between (even intense stage makeup). Here are three reasons why the polyester-blend cloth is my skincare savior.
It lasts a long time. This isn’t a one-time-use product by any means; the MakeUp Eraser will last about 1,000 washes, so get used to it being a semi-permanent addition to your bathroom cabinet or shower. Just make sure that you rinse it after each use and let it air dry to maintain its softness.
You will save money. Instead of relying on makeup wipes and ineffective face washes that often don’t fully get the job done on the first try, give this souped-up cloth a try when you’re in a pinch. You won’t need to use an additional cleanser to clear up any gunk that’s left behind, because it removes everything. Two less products to spend money on and more cash left in your wallet.
It’s gentle on your skin. While the mega-soft fabric does help clean your skin, it’s still gentle enough that it won’t irritate. To be clear, you shouldn’t be rubbing your face raw with this thing, but its plush fabrication will work on even the most sensitive skin.
I still am a devoted follower of my slightly excessive skincare system and this cloth hasn’t replaced it, but it’s important to have a solid backup when you just don’t have time. Anything is better than calling it a night while still covered in cosmetics, right?
