Michael Phelps Is About to Become a Daddy to Baby #2
Little Boomer Phelps may be just over a year old, but dealing with a newbie toddler hasn’t stopped his parents from expanding their family right away. Twice-married Michael Phelps and Nicole Johnson (along with Boomer, natch) have just announced that baby number two is on the way!
The 32-year-old former Olympian posted messages across all three of the family’s Instagram accounts, including Boomer’s (yes, Boomer is already on social media, and a verified account, no less). On Phelps’s own account, he captioned a pic of his wife and son, who happens to be holding a pregnancy test clenched in his hand, along with the joyful announcement, saying, “Number 2 on the way!!!! So excited!!” He added, “Wonder if it’s a boy or a girl??”

32-year-old Johnson (who is a former Miss California USA and now goes by Mrs. Nicole Michele Phelps) posted the same pic to Instagram, but with a shorter yet totally sweet message, saying, “Lil mans going to be a Big Brother!!!” Eee! Look at how happy they are!

As for the soon-to-be big brother, Boomer’s pic may be the very best, showing the little dude sporting an absolutely heart-melting smile and clapping his hands together as someone holds up the positive pregnancy test in front of him. “So excited to see what mama is having!! Do I get to have a brother or a sister?!?,” the caption reads, though by the looks of it, Boomer will be thrilled either way.
Now we’re just left wondering if the new baby will get a unique name like their big bro. We’re thinking Zoomer Phelps or Champ Phelps or maybe even Gold-Medal Phelps.
