Runway Rip-Off: How to Get Rachel Zoe’s ’90s Glam Nails + Lips
NYFW16 continues, and the look for Rachel Zoe’s Fall-Winter runway show? “1930s inspiration with 1990s glam,” says ZOYA nail artist Sunshine, the mastermind behind the catwalk’s manis. Zoe’s Marlene Dietrich-inspired frocks were expertly paired with bordeaux red nails and lips to match, a totally bold-yet-wearable look for the frosty winter months.
To get today’s runway nail look, Sunshine recommends a natural nail shape — nothing too long or pointy — and ZOYA polish in Riley. She started with a layer of ZOYA Anchor Base Coat, followed by a layer of ZOYA Pink Perfector. From there, two coats of Riley and a top coat of ZOYA Manicure Glossy Seal. If you’re in a rush and worried about “coloring outside the lines” of your fingernails (so to speak), Sunshine suggests lining your nails with tape that you can paint on and peel off after.
Top off the look with a pert bordeaux pucker, and you’re good to go. (PSA: If you’re stumped on the perfect winey shade for you, our team just test-drove 55 red lipsticks. Check it out!)
Now go forth and be vampy!
