OG Beauty and the Beast Songstress Celine Dion Just Signed on for the Remake’s Soundtrack
As with any Disney movie, the music from Beauty and the Beast was a HUGE part of the original film’s viewing experience. And while Angela Lansbury (who made no bones about having her opinions on the remake known) and Co.’s rousing rendition of “Be Our Guest” always puts a smile on our face, it was Celine Dion (along with Peabo Bryson) who tugged at our heartstrings with her take on the song’s title track, “Beauty and the Beast.”
Which is precisely why we were so stoked to hear that the French songstress, who posted the sweetest tribute to her late husband late week, will be joining the vocal talents of Emma Watson on the remake’s soundtrack (due out on March 10) with — what else!? — what E! reports to be an “emotional ballad about holding onto life’s precious moments.”
And no, it’s not “Beauty and the Beast” part II — this film’s version of that song will be recorded by Ariana Grande and John Legend. Instead, Celine’s song will be an original made just for the film called “How Does a Moment Last Forever.” Yassssss!
A press release for the announcement revealed that “Celine was the unanimous choice of the filmmakers and studio to perform this song” (because duh), and Celine, for her part, seems just as thrilled, saying,
