3 Major Moments to Watch for at the Royal Wedding
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding will feature a mix of traditional elements and personal details that embody their modern tastes and socially conscious personalities, and both aspects will make for many memorable moments on the big day. We’re hoping for a few surprises and candid moments, but there are a few things we know we’ll see — and we can’t wait. Here are three major moments to keep your eyes peeled for at the royal wedding.
1. Meghan Markle’s Arrival and Entrance at St. George’s Chapel: Thousands of lucky members of the public will be on hand to watch the bride arrive at the church where she’ll marry Prince Harry. It’ll be a grand and measured entrance, and if we’re lucky, it’ll be punctuated by a moment like the one between Prince Harry and Prince William at the latter’s wedding in 2011, when an excited Harry peeked at the approaching bride and told his brother, “Wait till you see her.”
2. The Vows: Given the royal couple’s penchant for bucking tradition, it’s possible we’ll see some personal touches in their wedding vows. Should they decide to exchange traditional vows from the Book of Common Prayer, as royal couples before them have, the reading and ring exchange will no doubt be an emotional moment.
3. The Newlyweds’ Carriage Procession Through Windsor: Following the ceremony, the newlyweds will embark on a horse-drawn carriage procession in an effort to allow “more people to come together around Windsor and to enjoy the atmosphere of this special day.” The couple have made a point of including the public as much as possible on their big day, not only by taking part in a procession, but also by inviting 2,640 members of the public to observe the day’s festivities from the Windsor Castle grounds.
