Score With This Cheesy Skillet Nacho Recipe for Football Season
Football season means tailgating plans are commencing, fantasy football teams are performing (or not, womp) and everyone is glued to their screens every Sunday and Monday. While superstitions and beer are important parts of the season’s rituals, there is one more thing that everyone has on their mind for the day: What are we going to eat during the game? While we’re yelling at the TV, we’re also stuffing our faces with the most delicious food we can get our hands on. Although wings and burgers are staples at any football game party, you also need to bring something new to the table. Give this nacho recipe a try for those times you want to add an extra crunch to your football food parade. They are easy to make and involve a lot of cheese. A lot.
Ingredients:
— 1/2 bag tortilla chips
— 2 jalapeños
— 1/4 cup shredded mixed cheese
— 1/4 cup cherry tomatoes
— 1/4 cup yellow onion, chopped
— 1/4 cup red onion, chopped
— 1 can black beans
— 1 Tablespoon sour cream
For Queso:
— 1 pound white American cheese
— 2 teaspoons cumin
— 2 teaspoons garlic powder
— 2 teaspoons onion powder
— 1/2 cup milk
— 1 Tablespoon butter
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Combine the yellow and red onions, one jalapeño and the tomatoes. Place them in a bowl and save for later.
3. Mince the other jalapeño to add to the queso cheese.
4. Add American cheese, cumin, onion powder, garlic powder, milk, butter and jalapeño to a saucepan over low heat and stir.
5. Keep stirring until the cheese is completely melted. Turn off heat and place saucepan to the side.
6. In a large skillet, pour a layer of chips, covering the whole surface.
7. Sprinkle half of the onion, jalapeño and tomato mixture over the chips.
8. Pour half of the black beans on top.
9. Pour half of the queso cheese over the chips.
10. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese on top.
11. Cover nachos with another layer of chips and repeat steps 7 -10.
12. Place skillet in the oven for 7-10 minutes or until shredded cheese is completely melted and chips are slightly toasted.
13. Take out of the oven and serve immediately with a dollop of sour cream on top.

Add a small layer of chips covering the whole skillet. Sprinkle half of the onion, tomato, jalapeño and tomato mixture over the chips. Sprinkle half of the black beans on top. Pour half of the queso cheese over the chips. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese.
Cover that layer with another layer of chips and repeat steps 7-10. So much cheesy deliciousness!
Place skillet in the oven for 7-10 minutes or until shredded cheese is completely melted and chips are slightly toasted.
Take the skillet out of the oven and serve immediately with a dollop of sour cream on top.
