These Furry Little Creatures Are Not What You’d Expect
Even though we’re more about the plus sign here at Brit + Co, we couldn’t help but do a double take at the following artistic reinterpretation of the classic grammatical symbol, the ampersand. Warning: you’re going to want to cuddle this thing more than any other art you’ve ever clicked across.
Daniel Mcleod is the Australian designer and creator of this silly project. His series, titled “Amfursands,” imagines the classic “&” sign covered in varying degrees of fur and hair, giving them a lifelike, amusing and whimsical appearance. (Extra props for the pun, Daniel.)
Now that we think about it, they’re actually kind of cute. These little guys remind us of characters from Sesame Street or the Muppets. Some of them even look like our own furry friends at home (and we know you spotted that Alice in Wonderland allusion with the Cheshire cat-inspired piece).
Take a look at the full series over at McLeod’s website to get the full glorious view of all the furry ampersands. You can pick out your favorites of course, but no, you can’t take them home to cuddle with later.
Tell us, what do you think of this project? Are you a fan of the furriness? Talk to us in the comments below!
