Christmas is undoubtedly a time of joy, love, and giving, but as Hilary Duff reminded us, it can also be a time of stress… particularly for parents.
Though the 30-year-old and big sister Haylie Duff are happy to go “all out” for Christmas (“We have very over-the-top Christmas. We like to pretend we don’t, but we do.”), the Younger star admitted to US Weekly that it’s not always easy. “I will tell you what’s most stressful [about the holidays]. Kids change their mind about what they want every five minutes,” she told the outlet.
Come to think of it, she’s also not particularly fond of wrapping . “Traffic, trying to run around, trying to make sure that I have everything for everyone, I don’t even wrap my own sh*t,” she quipped. “Like, I can’t. Trying to find what I need, all the Amazon sh*t that comes to my house, like, I can’t and I don’t wanna deal with it.”
Still, at the end of the day, it’s worth it to see her five-year-old son, Luca Cruz Comrie, smile. “Luca says the sweetest things to me and I’m just so appreciative of him. I can’t imagine my life without him,” she said. “I think it’s just like the daily routine of the things you do with kids that’s so special. It’s not like a big, extravagant thing that happens. It’s like the day in and day out of the relationship you’re building with your child.”
Well said, Hil!
