Lilly Pulitzer Created a Print Inspired by Starbucks’ Unicorn Frappuccinos
Even Lilly Pulitzer isn’t immune to the power of Starbucks’ viral unicorn frappe (or that ubiquitous unicorn trend, for that matter). The mythical creature has the brands’ creative wheels turning!
Lilly Pulitzer took to Instagram to share a painting of a unicorn in more natural hues than we’ve been seeing lately. The caption read, “Did you know Lilly has had a wild group of artists painting her prints since 1959ish. Thanks to our friends @starbucks unicorns are filling our feed and we got inspired.”
The brand had previously collaborated with the coffee retailer on a collection of extremely pretty water bottles that sold out almost immediately (and were then marked up considerably on eBay). So the two companies definitely have some history.
While the preppy clothing company is probably most famous for their bright and beautiful patterns, up until now the designs have mainly been floral. But THIS one has a unicorn. We’re willing to bet whatever they create using the pattern (if anything — there’s no official news yet of the print being made into clothing) will be a hit.
What do you think of the painting? Would you wear a dress with LP’s unicorn? Tell us @BritandCo!
