If Pantone has anything to say about color (they definitely do), we鈥檒l be moving to the softer side of the color spectrum come spring 2015. While we鈥檙e still cozying up in plaid scarves and warming up to the idea of jewel toned layers, LBDs galore and winter whites when possible, we had to take a sneak peek at Pantone鈥檚 Fashion Color Report for next season.

While past seasons have lended themselves to brights and even neons, the upcoming spring predictions are quite soft, pale and neutral. The collection is inspired by throwbacks and daydreams of simpler times before we were consumed by technology. Executive Director Leatrice Eiseman of the Pantone Color Institute says, 鈥淭here鈥檚 a growing movement to step out and create 鈥榪uiet zones鈥 to disconnect from technology and unwind, giving ourselves time to stop and be still. Color choices follow the same minimalistic, 鈥榚n plein air鈥 theme, taking a cue from nature rather than being reinvented or mechanically manipulated.鈥

Meet the calming spring colors and start sprinkling them into your wardrobe now 鈥 we won鈥檛 stop you. Or if you鈥檇 rather live in the now, check out our fashion picks within Pantone鈥檚 current trendscape here.
