Peacock will soon release a new drama series, The Five-Star Weekend, that's shaping up to have a stacked cast. Created by Bekah Brunstetter, best known for This Is Us and Maid, the show — which is perfect for fans of The White Lotus, Sirens, and Big Little Lies  — is expected to hit the streamer sometime next year. So, ahead of its production, here's everything you need to know about The Five-Star Weekend.

Scroll to find out everything about Peacock's adaptation Elin Hilderbrand's The Five-Star Weekend...

What is 'The Five-Star Weekend' about?

The series is actually based on Elin Hilderbrand's novel of the same name, published in June 2023. It revolves around a famous food influencer named Hollis Shaw, who experiences an unimaginable loss: the death of her heart surgeon husband, Matthew, in a car accident.

The grief starts to deepen problems in her seemingly perfect life, including her complex relationship with her daughter and her desire to gain approval from her fans online.

Then, Hollis hears about the "Five-Star Weekend" idea. Essentially, a woman puts together a trip with a best friend from each life phase, spanning from her teenage years to her midlife. So, she decides to host a getaway herself: inviting "three friends from different stages in her life, her childhood, her twenties, thirties, and one surprise fifth star" for a weekend in Nantucket.

"Set against a luxurious and coastal backdrop, they will mature in ways they could never imagine as boundaries are pushed and secrets are exposed," reads the series' official description.

The announced cast of The Five-Star Weekend includes:

The biggest name to join the cast list thus far is Jennifer Garner, who's portraying Hollis Shaw and will also be executive producing the show. The 53-year-old has an expansive resume, ranging from the iconic coming-of-age film 13 Going on 30 to more recent works, like Yes Day and The Last Thing He Told Me.

Regina Hall will also starr as a series regular in The Five-Star Weekend, playing the character Dru-Ann Jones. Regina is best known for her roles in Girls Trip and Nine Perfect Strangers.

Chloë Sevigny will take on the role of Tatum McKenzie. As one of the latest additions to The Five-Star Weekend cast lineup, she's appeared in various seasons of American Horror Story and starred in the film Boys Don't Cry.

Gemma Chan is playing Gigi Ling, one of Hollis's friends she met online. Gemma's starred in beloved films like Crazy Rich Asians and Captain Marvel.

And on top of that, Peacock just announced that D'Arcy Carden is officially joining the cast as Brooke Kirtley. You've seen her in series such as The Good Place (Janet) and Nobody Wants This (Ryann).

Who's producing 'The Five-Star Weekend' on Peacock?

The idea to turn The Five-Star Weekend into a TV series had been in discussion at Peacock for about a year. Then, it was given the "green light" following Jennifer Garner's casting in the lead role, as well as her position as executive producer.

Bekah Brunstetter, the creator, is also serving as a writer and executive producer on The Five-Star Weekend, along with Beth Schacter. The rest of the executive producers include Sue Naegle, Ali Krug, and Elin Hilderbrand.
