Welcome to From Costume To Closet, a mini series that turns your favorite movie and TV show fashion into something you can wear right now!

Book lovers everywhere are *always* talking about the novels featured on Gilmore Girls— after all, Rory Gilmore is reading a new title in virtually every episode (I wish I could read that fast). But in addition to her book knowledge, her curiosity, and her love for coffee, my favorite part of Gilmore Girls is all of Rory Gilmore's outfits. They're *so* attainable and cozy that I just want to live in them at all times. Plus, they've got just enough Y2K flair that they feel nostalgic but they're toned down enough that they're not too outdated if you want to try your hand at recreating them — which is exactly what we're going to do today. I went through season one and found some of Rory's most iconic outfits that you can add to your closet, like, right now. Not only are they cohesive (the gal really loves whites and blues) but they also reuse some of the same pieces, which is sustainable too!


A Breakdown Of Rory Gilmore's Outfits

As opposed to other installments of From Costume To Closet (which feature multiple characters), since we're only doing Rory Gilmore's outfits, let's take a look at her approach to different events:

Casual — Rory is the epitome of the girl next door, and all of her everyday outfits are both comfortable and cute. Even when she wears something like a tee shirt and jacket, choosing fitted pieces, different proportions, or accessories means she never looks frumpy.

Formal — Our leading lady is a big fan of A-line silhouettes and classic ensembles, as well as feminine details. Feel free to go wild with embroidery and beading. Rory does! Mixing up your colors and textures is another fun way to visual dimension.

School — You won't want to copy Rory's Chilton uniform piece for piece (it is a school uniform after all), but there's plenty of inspo to draw from it. The entire uniform stays in the same navy, light blue, and white color palette, and she has some fun with accessories like a tie or headband. I'm also a huge fan of the way her yellow backpack provides some intense color contrast!

This outfit has been absolutely immortalized in the pop culture zeitgeist, and honestly, for good reason. It proves you can be super comfortable without sacrificing style. (Plus the simplicity of the outfit really lets Rory's classic early '00s hair take center stage, as it should). Trust me, this white cable knit sweater has been the softest addition to my closet. I added a few recent trends to really bring this outfit into 2024 — delicate jewelry and ballet flats are huge right now, and tying everything together with shades of green means you have more freedom with textures and silhouettes.

Because we don't want to walk around town in a fictional school uniform, I took a scaled-back approach to this Rory Gilmore outfit. I kept the same blue and white color palette thanks to this two-toned coat (and added some academic plaid with a hair bow), and adding details like flared denim and metallic sneakers elevates pieces that could look super basic otherwise. And in honor of Stars Hollow's most beloved drink, I found these super cute espresso martini earrings I'm *obsessed* with!

The Dance Dress

Jumpsuit; Heels; Hair pins; Clutch; Earrings

Holiday party season is quickly approaching and there are a few classic fabrics that wind up in my rotation: sequins, satin, and velvet. Instead of the traditional holiday dress approach, I switched it up with this velvet jumpsuit in a totally intoxicating blue. Strappy heels feel like a nice contrast to the full, lush look of the jumpsuit, and since I've always loved with the flowers in Rory's hair, I paid homage with a few pearly hair pins. If you'd rather go a more artsy, modern route, add these sculptural earrings instead of the pins.

Dress; Coat; Boots; Scarf; Earrings; Bag

A dress + coat + shoulder bag combo will literally never go out of style if you ask me. I turned this look into something more monochromatic, but since the dress and coat are different tones, there's a little bit of dimension. Even though the suede boots have a similar finish to the sweater dress, the stiletto heel adds some edge that you'd also get from a leather block-heel boot! Finally, for some extra color (and in honor of the one and only Lorelai), add a multicolored scarf and pink bag. Since they both feature some gray tones (instead of bright neons), they don't overwhelm the outfit at all — in fact, they'd look just as good with the white sweater outfit as they do with this!

July 7, 2018 — Justin And Hailey Bieber Get Engaged

Justin and Hailey Bieber reconnected at a Miami conference from pastor Rich Wilkerson Jr., and by then, Hailey says, they were past the drama. Things fell into place quickly, and TMZ announced the couple's engagement in July.

"He was the first person I ever had real feelings for," Hailey later says in an episode of Justin Bieber: Seasons. "When things kind of went south for a little bit and we went our separate ways, I just knew that no matter what the outcome was going to be, he was going to be somebody that I loved for the rest of my life."

After moving in together, the couple was seen walking into a courthouse in the fall (via TMZ)! Since slipping wedding bands on each other's fingers, both Justin and Hailey Bieber have admitted their relationship has taken a ton of work.

"I remember when I first got married, I hit a little bit of an emotional breakdown because I thought marriage was going to fix all my problems and it didn't," Justin says in an interview with Apple Music 1's Ebro Darden (via Billboard). "You want your wife to do something that you're not doing and it's like, it's hard sometimes to look in the mirror and really have to realize, man, maybe you're not the person that you necessarily thought that you were."

"There's a reason they say 'for better or for worse.' Like, that's for real!" Hailey tells Harper's Bazaar. "I might fly somewhere and go do a job, but I can't wait to come back and hang out. And I feel like that's because of the effort that's been put in on both sides. At the end of the day, like, he's my best friend, but it still does take a lot of work to make it work."

September 13, 2021 — Justin Bieber And Hailey Bieber Attend The 2021 Met Gala

To celebrate the Met's America: A Lexicon Of Fashion exhibit at the end of 2021, Justin and Hailey Bieber went old school glam for the Met Gala red carpet, with chic outfits and statement jewelry. Unfortunately, their appearance went viral for a different reason when fans of Justin's ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez started changing *her* name during Hailey's time on the carpet.

“It was disrespectful," Hailey says during an episode of Alex Cooper's Call Her Daddy podcast. "To me, to my relationship. It just was. Period. The end.”

While some fans think a feud has existed between Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber for years, Hailey says "there's no drama, personally."

March 10, 2022 — Hailey Bieber Suffers A Mini Stroke

During the spring of 2022, Justin and Hailey Bieber were eating breakfast together when the model "started having stroke-like symptoms and was taken to the hospital," she wrote in an Instagram story (via ABC News). In a YouTube video sharing her story, Hailey explains that she was diagnosed with a patent foramen ovale (or PFO), which is a hole between your heart's left and right upper chambers.

On March 16, during Justin Bieber's concert in Denver, the singer confirmed Hailey had been doing better. "She's okay, she's good. It's been scary, you know, it's been really scary but I know for a fact that God has her in the palm of his hands."

The couple later walked the Grammys red carpet in Las Vegas on April 3.

Hailey Bieber turned 26 while the couple was on a trip to Japan, which meant Justin's Instagram post was 14 hours earlier for all their friends and family in North America!

April 3, 2024 — Justin And Hailey Bieber Are "Very, Very Happy"

After rumors began circulating that Justin and Hailey Bieber were having some serious issues, a source tells People the couple is “doing really well."

“There’s no divorce and no truth to that whatsoever,” the source says. “They are very, very happy.”

Hailey Bieber herself weighed in on the rumors in March, when she posted the above message on her Instagram story. "Just FYI the stories and constant ‘blind items’ I see on TikTok are 100% of the time wrong. After mentioning she was ready for kids a year ago, Hailey Bieber's pregnant! So far, Hailey Bieber's pregnancy announcement carousel on Instagram has almost 10 million likes and tons of praise! Revolve even left this sweet comment: "couldn’t be happier for you guys🥹🤍."

But, the best praise came from Justin and Hailey Bieber's families. Justin's mom, Patti Mallette, took to Instagram to share her thoughts in a reel on Instagram that captured her excitement about becoming a grandma. She squealed, "Oh my gosh, I'm gonna be a grandmom! Oh my goodness!"

She also left a happy message on Stephen Baldwin's Instagramthat made some fans question if she was revealing if Justin and Hailey Bieber are having twins. She initially wrote, "Congratulations Grandpa! WE ARE GONNA HAVE THE CUTEST GRAND-BABIES EVER!" but circled back to let people know, "No not twins lol I wish. I just mean in general. Hopefully they will have more than one eventually. They will make beautiful babies whenever they have them. One is enough for now 😂"

There's Another Cinderella Story, starring Selena Gomez and Drew Seeley, but that's more so a part of a series of "Cinderella stories" rather than an actual sequel. So far, we haven't gotten a follow-up on our Princeton-bound faves.

Has "A Cinderella Story 2" been announced?

There's been no formal announcement yet, but that doesn't mean all hope is lost. During his press tour for Mother of the Bride, Chad Michael Murray told ETthat he's definitely interested in bringing Austin Ames back. He said that even his daughter told him, "You need to make another one of these, Daddy," after she watched A Cinderella Story for the first time.

His response to the idea? "Here you go, Hil. From me to you, let's do it!" — referring to Hilary Duff, of course! The timing couldn't be better either, given that Hilary just gave birth to her fourth child and could hypothetically be available to film in the coming months...just saying!

Again, there's no official information about this project yet, but with a main piece of the puzzle on board, we're one step closer to my own personal happily-ever-after — a real sequel to A Cinderella Story once and for all.

Gigi Hadid And Bradley Cooper Just Took Date Night To Paris To Watch The Eras Tour

Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper have been pretty private about their relationship, but the two have been out and about more frequently as of late.

The pair has been linked since October 2023, with plenty of dinner dates, city strolls, and weekend getaways under their belts since. They were reportedlyintroduced to each other by Bradley’s ex-girlfriend (and the mother of his daughter), Irina Shayk, who has mutual friends in the acting and modeling industries.

However they met, Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper are a couple we’ve come to really love. Read on for a full timeline of their relationship!

Who is Gigi Hadid?

Gigi Hadid is an American model from Los Angeles, California. She is 28 years old, and has been modeling since she was two. Since then, she’s walked countless runways for designers like Tom Ford, Jean Paul Gaultier, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Miu Miu, and many more. She’s been featured numerous times on US-based and international magazine covers and continues to represent Maybelline as a spokesmodel. Gigi is Bella Hadid’s sister, who is also an esteemed model. Gigi also has her own fashion line called Guest in Residence, which launched in 2022.

Gigi has most notably dated Cody Simpson, Joe Jonas, and Zayn Malik. She began dating Zayn in 2015, and the couple were on-again, off-again for quite some time until they announced their pregnancy with daughter Khai in April 2020. They officially split after the relationship between Zayn and Gigi’s mother, Yolanda, turned tense and came to a head. TMZ had claimed Zayn had grown angry with her and things had gotten out of hand. Zayn then entered a no-contest plea to multiple charges of harassment against Yolanda.

Still, Zayn and Gigi are set on co-parenting Khai the best they can.

"Since I've had my daughter and since she was born, the main thing in my mind is trying to be a good example to her in terms of, I can do things and I can achieve things and I can overcome things and you can do this, too," he told People in July 2023.

Gigi has also previously been linked to actor Leonardo DiCaprio, but according to People, things were never serious between the two, and they fizzled out around February 2023.

Who is Bradley Cooper?

Bradley Cooper is an award-winning American actor, producer, screenwriter, and director from Pennsylvania. He is 49 years old. Bradley made his acting debut in 1999 with a guest role in Sex and the City, and has since starred in films like The Hangover, The Place Beyond the Pines, Silver Linings Playbook, A Star is Born, and Maestro.

Bradley has won one BAFTA, one SAG Award, and two Grammys for his work in the film industry.

Bradley was briefly married to actress Jennifer Esposito in 2006 before they divorced in 2007. He’s most notably dated Renée Zellweger, Zoe Saldaña, and Suki Waterhouse. Bradley also dated Russian model Irina Shayk from 2015 to 2019, and they share a daughter, Lea de Seine (born 2017), together.

Bradley is known to engage in philanthropy (most notably with The One Family Foundation focused on cancer), but has also used his platform to raise awareness around Alzheimer’s disease, climate change, and politics. He is very close with his family and has fully recovered from substance addiction and alcoholism.

The two were spotted together again the following weekend on October 8 – they were traveling back to NYC via Jeep after what seemed like a private weekend getaway (thatreportedly took place at Taylor Swift’s mansion in Rhode Island).

At this point, neither Gigi nor Bradley had publicly addressed their relationship.

In December, Bradley co-opened Danny & Coop’s, a Philly cheesesteak food truck serving NYC. Gigi sweetly stopped by during his first shift promoting the biz to pick up some food!

Bradley’s ex-wife, Irina Shayk, also popped by the truck at a separate time, with their 6 year-old daughter, Lea de Seine, in tow. Bradley and Irina separated in June 2019.

According to a source that spoke with Entertainment Tonight, there was zero hostility coming from Gigi and Bradley’s respective exes – Zayn Malik and Irina Shayk – regarding their budding relationship.

"Gigi, Bradley, Irina, and Zayn are all in a place where they want each person to be happy and healthy,” the source said, “Zayn's priority is to have a good co-parenting relationship with Gigi."

Gigi and Bradley attended Queer Eye star Antoni Porowski’s birthday dinner at Via Carota in NYC (of which Bradley is a “regular”), with plenty of PDA to boot!

According to Daily Mail, the pair was spotted in good spirits, laughing and kissing all evening long.

The pair was also spotted attending the March 23 performance of Broadway's Sweeney Todd in NYC, E Newsreports. Before leaving hand-in-hand, they snapped a pic with cast member Joanna Carpenter, which she posted on her Instagram story.

Although Gigi and Bradley have yet to comment on their relationship, one source told People that the pair is just “having fun” with it, but going strong because of their shared love and dedication to parenting.

“[They have] things in common so it’s possible to see it progress," the source said. “It appears super casual now, but they both have kids, big careers, busy lives and understand what life is like in these circles. It’s cute… and there is an attraction."
