The 5 Best Hulu Shows To Watch In September 2025

I’m of the firm belief that Hulu is the most underrated streaming service of the bunch. I don’t love the fact that it has ads in between, but what makes up for those annoying commercial breaks is the streaming service’s library of endless high-quality content. It has everything from original Hulu programs like The Handmaid's Tale and The Bear, to classic comfort sitcoms such as New Girl and Schitt’s Creek.
Aside from throwback TV shows and recent favorites you want to rewatch, Hulu has a bunch of great shows coming out this September, too. Let’s take a look at what you don't wanna miss this month!

Is 'The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox' based on a true story?HuluThe Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox — Airs every Wednesday
This is one of the shows I’ve been looking forward to most, and it’s currently available for streaming on Hulu. As the title suggests, it tells the (very) twisted tale of Amanda Knox, who was involved in one of the most widely discussed true crime cases in the 21st century. The nation was divided as to whether or not Amanda, who was then a college student studying abroad in Italy, was guilty of murdering her roommate. She was eventually found guilty and sent to prison for multiple years, despite her insistence that she was innocent. Eventually, new evidence suggested that Amanda was actually telling the truth and that she had been put behind bars for a crime she did not commit. This series details the journey through Amanda’s perspective. With its stellar cast, beautiful backdrops of Italy, and tragic stakes, it certainly makes for a fascinating story.

Only Murders in the Building (Season 5) — September 9, 2025
Everyone I know and their mother can’t stop raving about Only Murders in the Building. I’ve watched it all over the span of one weekend, and it was easily one of the most chaotic, engaging, hilarious viewing experiences I’ve had in recent years. Pure television gold, with a brilliant ensemble cast to boot. Honestly, I never knew until OMITB that I desperately needed Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and Martin Short acting alongside each other. It’s perfect for cozy murder mystery fans, as well as comedy lovers. I love shows that effortlessly blend genres in a way that feels seamless, and that’s exactly what this Hulu original accomplishes.

Hulu
Futurama (Season 13) — September 15, 2025
The streaming service has adopted Futurama on Hulu, and the beloved adult animated series is coming back for a 13th season this September. Oh, the nostalgia! I remember feeling super edgy as a kid during those nights when I’d stay up late to watch Futurama way past my bedtime. The series first premiered in 1999 and has been revived several times over the past two decades. I always remembered loving the series while I was growing up due to its unique storylines and intelligent humor. With this in mind, I personally can’t wait to see what the series has in store for the next installment.

Hulu
Reasonable Doubt (Season 3) — September 18, 2025
L.A. Defense Attorney Jax Stewart is back for another season of Reasonable Doubt on Hulu! Jax has earned some much-needed peace after last season's craziness — but that peace is pretty short-lived after Ozzie, a child star, is in need of her legal help. Unfortunately, defending Ozzie isn't as clear-cut as most legal jobs, and Jax finds herself in the middle of another scandal that could jeopardize her illustrious career.

FX
The Lowdown — September 24, 2025
Ethan Hawke and Jeanne Tripplehorn star in FX's The Lowdown. After Lee Raybon (Hawke), a local bookstore owner-turned-amateur investigative journalist starts to expose some dark truths in his community, tings start to take a turn. Death, conspiracy, and mystery linger at every turn — especially after a man named Marty starts to take an interest in Lee's investigations.

Hulu
Chad Powers — September 30, 2025
At this point, I'd watch Glen Powell in just about anything — so I'm especially excited about Chad Powers! This isn't the typical project we've seen Glen in (you know, where he's usually all muscle and charm and whatnot), but I know it's gonna be good nonetheless. The story follows a football player who dons a disguise as "Chad Powers" to walk on to a college team after he ruins his own career at another school. Nothing can go wrong, right?
