Forget charcoal 鈥 it鈥檚 all about gold: 24K gold, baby! Last week, Krispy Kreme and Hershey鈥檚 teamed up to bring us the gold standard of donuts, and now, it鈥檚 our ice cream that鈥檚 getting tricked out thanks to the good folks over at Snowopolis.

As of this weekend, the California ice cream chain is offering up an edible 24K pure gold ice cream cone that gleams just like the real deal 鈥 probably because it is.

As NY dietician Alexandra Oppenheimer explained to Food & Wine, 鈥淓dible gold must be 23 to 24 carats鈥 (or 90 percent pure for gold leaves).

Still, she says it鈥檚 not quite the same as taking a bite out of your favorite necklace.鈥淚t鈥檚 not the same gold you鈥檒l find in your jewelry, which may have metals and can be toxic and dangerous if consumed.鈥

This gold, rather, known as E-175 in Europe, doesn鈥檛 break down in your body due to its chemical inertia. As dietician Cynthia Sass explained to the publication, depending on the amount consumed, 鈥淢ost likely edible gold won鈥檛 be absorbed from the digestive system into the bloodstream, and therefore it will pass through the body and be eliminated as waste.鈥

According to Hello Giggles, this particularly shiny treat was created by pre-spraying a waffle cone with edible gold dust, filling with vanilla soft serve, and coating with 24K tinfoil-like gold leaves that are placed just so.

These little beauties don鈥檛 come cheap, either: in fact, at $15 a pop, it just might be the most expensive cone you鈥檒l ever taste. But, as the company points out on its Instagram page, it鈥檚 鈥渢otally worth it for the 鈥榞ram.鈥

It鈥檚 not the only snazzy treat the shop serves up, either: Take a peek at this mouthwatering Reese鈥檚 Sweet & Gucci shake or the equally 鈥楪rammable Candyland shake!

Excuse us while we make our way to the store鈥檚 main Anahaim locale!
