Jessica Simpson Is Giving Us Flashbacks to the Craziest Pair of Shoes We’ve Ever Laid Eyes On
We’ve seen a lot of crazy footwear in our day — from these insane unicorn heels to Gucci’s built-in sock sandal heels, we didn’t think there was a whole lot of shocking left to do in the shoe department. Jessica Simpson just proved us wrong, however, posting a shot on Instagram of the most bizarre throwback kicks we’ve ever seen.
While at first glance it may appear that we’re getting a glimpse of her long golden locks on the floor after being shorn, or perhaps extensions she’s had removed, as it turns out, the blonde, hairy “things” we’re seeing here are actually… shoes?
“Loafer or gopher?” the 36-year-old wrote, adding, “#ShoeCrushSaturday,” #JustKidding.”
Not believing our eyes, we did some digging, only to find out that her picks were indeed shoes, and some very expensive ones at that. These furry creations (now sold out) come courtesy of — who else!? — Gucci, and were once up for grabs on Net-a-Porter for a cool $1,800.
That’s right! For nearly $2K, lucky ladies could nab these Wookie-esque horsebit detailed slippers made entirely of honey goat hair. They’ve got a bit of history to them, as well, as the website lists them as “one of the most talked-about designs” from the brand’s Creative Director Alessandro Michele’s debut collection back in 2015.
We’re not sure how we’ve managed to overlook these for so long, but now that we’ve seen them, we surely won’t be forgetting them anytime soon!
