Pete Davidson Cancels Second Comedy Appearance After Ariana Grande Split
There’s no denying that breaking up is hard to do. So maybe it’s not so surprising that a week and a half after reportedly ending his engagement to Ariana Grande, Pete Davidson has just canceled a second comedy appearance, reportedly citing “personal reasons.”
While neither Davidson nor Grande have spoken out directly about splitting up after quickly getting engaged back in June, the 24-year-old Saturday Night Live star has now pulled out of a scheduled performance at Saint Louis University in Missouri on Thursday, October 25.
A Facebook page for the event explained, “Due to personal reasons, Pete Davidson’s appearance at SLU has been cancelled. Stay tuned for more information about another great speaker!” No further information is provided, however the post includes the tags “health” and “mental health.”
This comes just over a week after Davidson backed out of a Temple University Comedy Night Live event on October 17. At the time, a spokesperson from Student Activities at Temple University told Us Weekly, “Pete Davidson has pulled out of his appearance here, last minute, due to personal reasons.”
Davidson hasn’t taken a complete hiatus from work, though. On Saturday, October 10 he co-hosted the Judd and Pete for America benefit in West Hollywood alongside Judd Apatow. According to Us Weekly, during the event, he made a joke about “looking for a new roommate” and noted that he “didn’t want to be” there because “there’s a lot going on.”
Meanwhile, Grande has been posting photos from the set of NBC’s A Very Wicked Halloween and adding captions to her Insta stories, like, “Can’t believe I almost let my anxiety ruin this for me today!! Not today Satan! Not tomorrow or the next day either not no more … finna sing my heart out and be a big walking vessel of love bye.”
She also wrote, “Ok today was v special and I’m so grateful I was able to be there. Time to say bye bye to the internet for just a lil bit. It’s hard not to bump news n stuff that I’m not tryna to see rn. It’s very sad and we’re all tryin very hard to keep goin. Love u. And thank u for bein here always.” She later deleted the post.
