Is Margot Robbie Producing The A Court Of Thorns And Roses TV Show?

A Court Of Thorns And Roses TV Show

While I love seeing BookTok-viral novels get turned into movies (hello It Ends With Us!), it's just as fun to see them get turned into TV shows, like Fourth Wing — and A Court of Thorns and Roses. If you're a fantasy book fan, then there's a good chance you've heard of the sensation, if not devoured the entire series already! Keep reading for the latest news on the A Court of Thorns and Roses TV show.

Is A Court of Thorns and Roses going to be a TV show?

Image via KoolShooters/Pexels

Yes, there's A Court of Thorns and Roses TV show in the works! After a few nonstarters (and incorrect rumors that the show had been cancelled), the series is coming to Hulu. And Sarah J. Maas is working with Outland creator Ronald D. Moore! The last official piece of news we got was in 2022, when Sarah told The New York Times she was still working on the show with Moore.

But on February 27, 2024, Sarah J. Maas reportedly went out to coffee with Margot Robbie. Margot's production company (LuckyChap) has backed projects like I, Tonya, Promising Young Woman, Saltburn. Everything Margot touches turns to gold so I really hope she ends up on the creative team for A Court of Thorns and Roses! While neither woman has confirmed that they have a partnership for the series, all signs point to Margot potentially producing the series. Yes, please!

What is A Court of Thorns and Roses about?

A Court of Thorns and Roses follows Feyre, a huntress who's forced to live with the immortal faeries after killing a wolf in the woods. The longer she stays in the Fae's world, the more she begins to love it — and the passionate, alluring faerie Tamlin. But as a dark shadow grows, both their world and Tamlin are put in danger, and it's up to Feyre to save them all.

When is the A Court of Thorns and Roses TV show release date?

Image via Zoltan Tasi/Unsplash

The A Court of Thorns and Roses show is still in the very early stages of pre-production so the earliest we can expect to watch the first episode is late 2025 or early 2026. According to celebrity gossip account Deuxmoi, Hulu allegedly has the first four scripts. While they were supposed to begin filming late 2023 or early 2024, that would have been pushed because of the writers' and actors' strikes.

Who's in the A Court of Thorns and Roses cast?

There haven't been any official casting announcements yet, but Deuxmoi (via Marie Claire Australia) revealed some potential actors who could be in the running, like Thomas Doherty, Theo James, and Katherine Langford. Actress Brec Bassigner expressed that she'd love to be considered for a role. "I emailed my team, and I was like, ‘Listen, I don’t care if I have one line. I have to be a part of this,'" she says in an interview with TV Line.

When did the Court of Thorns and Roses series come out?

Image viaAmazon

A Court of Thorns and Roses is the first novel in the series of the same name, and was published in 2015. Sarah J. Maas continued the series with A Court of Mist and Fury in 2016, A Court of Wings and Ruin in 2017, A Court of Frost and Starlight in 2018, and A Court of Silver Flames in 2021.

Last season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, we all speculated that Kyle Richards swapped one Mo for another given her separation from Mauricio Umansky and budding friendship with Morgan Wade. While Richards was tight lipped throughout each episode, we learned a lot more from Buying Beverly Hills and tabloids alike, featuring more definitive timelines and theories about what was really going on at home with the Richards-Umansky family. Now, with Mauricio reportedly fully moved out and Morgan allegedly out of the picture, what's left for Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 14? Here's a breakdown of everything we know, from returning cast members, remaining couples, and more.

Who's returning to "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" for season 14?

Images via Bravo

There aren't any official announcements about the returning cast yet, but there are plenty of stories out there about who's not returning — and who's potentially getting demoted!

First up is Dorit Kemsley. Dorit's been on the show a while now, gabbing and girling with Kyle Richard throughout the latter half of the show's history — but there's been a wrench in that relationship ever since Kyle befriended Morgan Wade. And now, The Daily Mail exclusively reported that Dorit may even get demoted to "friend of the show" after not being fully truthful about the state of her relationship with husband PK Kemsley — more on that in a moment. Kyle Richards "dismissed" these reports, but we'll have to see about that. Fingers crossed she and Kyle can mend things...and that she and the producers can as well!

Next, we've gotta address Anne Marie Wiley. Anne Marie was let go from the show after just one season — where we can't help but giggle at the journey from calling herself a literal doctor to finally addressing that she's actually a nurse — and is allegedly okay with it. She told Peoplethat she's "in a great space" since then, so...good for you, girl! Just maybe don't obsess over someone's esophagus in your next foray into the film and TV world.

A regular for the last three season, Crystal Kung Minkoff is also not returning to the RHOBH world, according to Deadline. She noted on Instagram how heavy it was to carry "the weight" of being the first — and only — Asian American woman to join the RHOBH cast. Her presence and thoughtful opinions will definitely be missed!

For now, we can only assume that Kyle Richards, Garcelle Beauvais, Erika Jayne, Dorit Kemsley, and Sutton Stracke will make a return, but only time — and tabloids — will tell!

Will any new cast members join "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" season 14?

Image via NBC

Apparently Melanie Griffith, known for starring in projects like Working Girl, is joining the RHOBH crew for season 14, according to In Touch Weekly! She's a long-time friend to Kyle Richards, and I think that'll add a great dynamic...especially given how rocky things got between Kyle and Dorit last year. The girl needs friends now more than ever!

One of the sillier rumored cast situations is that Chelsea Handler was joining the show. The hilarious comedian quickly shut that down, however.

A person we don't think will ever return as a main cast member, friend, or otherwise? Miss upside down jacket herself, Denise Richards. 🤭

Who's still a couple on "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" right now?

Image via Netflix

That's a very, very good question! Kyle and Mauricio are definitely broken up, and seemingly for good. The only other remaining couple was Dorit and PK, but that's all changing quickly. In April, The Daily Mailreported that PK's living in the Beverly Hills Hotel at the moment. Now, Dorit officially posted an update about their relationship on Instagram. It says:

"We as a couple have been subject to a lot of speculation about our marriage. We have had our struggles over the last few years and continue to work through them as two people who love each other and share two amazing children together. To safeguard our deep friendship and maintain a harmonious environment for our children we have made the mutual and difficult decision to take some time apart and reevaluate our relationship while we prioritize our children. We appreciate your love and support while we continue to do the work necessary throughout this journey. With love, Dorit and PK"

Comments poured in from fans and fellow housewives alike. Lisa Rinna commented, "I love you ❤️," followed by Kathy Hilton and Anne Marie Wiley's prayer hands and heart emojis. While this doesn't necessarily spell out divorce, it doesn't look great for the longtime couple. All in all, I'm hoping for a healthy outcome for the whole family!

When will "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" season 14 air?

Image via Bravo

There's no set air date for Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 14, but I'd have to guess that we'll see these ladies (and whoever else joins them) by sometime in 2025.

TV moms have a way of making us cringe, cry, laugh and think. Whether they were outright power moms and #girlbosses or reserved forces of nature, each of the most recognizable matriarchs had their own way of teaching us some pretty valuable lessons and, more importantly, showing us that parents are people too. Plus, they make us love our own moms even more than we already do! With so many of our favorite shows coming to an end, let's take a quick look back on 15 TV moms who kept it real week after week. Once you're done reading, check out 26 Make-Ahead Recipes For A Perfect Mother's Day Brunch!

Brit + Co's Best TV Moms

Image via ABC

Meredith Grey, Grey's Anatomy

If you're a fan of Grey's Anatomy, then you know that Meredith is many things. Beyond a talented surgeon and COVID-19/drowning/shooting/physical attack/bomb/hemorrhaging during an emergency C-section without power survivor, she is also an incredible mom. She always fought for her kids, and despite everything going on in her life she always thought of them whenever decisions had to be made. And we love her!!

Image via 20th Television/Disney–ABC Domestic Television

Rainbow Johnson, Black-ish

She’s a doctor AND mother of five — need we say more? Rainbow “Bow” is a modern-day Clair Huxtable, a straight-shooter with a light and fun attitude. She keeps her kids and husband Andre "Dre" in their places while encouraging their growth, and coupled with her caring parenting style makes her a great mom role model.

Image via WB/CW/Warner Bros. Television Distribution

Lorelai Gilmore, Gilmore Girls

The junk food loving, free-spirited Lorelai Gilmore fast-talked her way from Stars Hollow into everyone's hearts as the complicated, yet lovable mom to Rory. She gave amazing advice wrapped in a punchline and taught us all that the best thing you can be is authentic to yourself.

Image via CBC Television

Moira Rose, Schitt's Creek

Is Moira Rose the most attentive mother? No. Does she value her beloved wig collection more than her own children? Maybe. Does she love her bébés? Absolutely.

Image via The CW/Warner Bros. Television

Xiomara Villanueva, Jane the Virgin

TBH, Xiomara did a pretty okay job at handling all of Jane's antics (and surprise baby), so for that alone she deserves a spot on this list. Who knows what we'd be thinking in that scenario! Not only was she fully supportive (and at times a necessary grounding force) for young Jane, she was also a great grandmother to Mateo and wife to the spontaneous telenovela star Rogelio de la Vega.

Image via ABC/20th Television

Claire Dunphy, Modern Family

There's keeping it real and then there's Claire Dunphy. She holds it all down while remembering everything on everyone's checklist and gives the best reactions to her husband's awkward outbursts and extended family's shenanigans. She's basically the definition of Super Mom.

Image via Peter Kramer/NBC

Olivia Benson, Law & Order: SVU

Olivia Benson may not be known for being a mother, but she's about as bad-ss as you can get. Not only does she protect her son, Noah, fervently, she would quite literally do anything to protect him and her SVU victims.

Image via 20th Television/Disney–ABC Domestic Television

Jessica Huang, Fresh Off the Boat

Who rules the world? Mrs. Huang does.Jessica has a competitive spirit that rivals any Olympian and owns everything she does. She's loud, aggressive and not afraid to give anyone the cold, hard truth. If most of us could lay it down half as well as Jessica, we'd all be ruling the world in a much more orderly (and hysterical) way.

Image via Mill Creek Entertainment/Carsey-Werner Distribution/NBC

Claire Huxtable, The Cosby Show

Claire was the ultimate #girlboss before hashtags even mattered. She was a partner in a law firm, ran a tight ship at home, and killed with serious side-eye. She kept five (FIVE!) children in check, as well as all of the extra people they accumulated through the seasons, and Claire was the greatest example of how straight-shooting and level-headed confidence can rule the world.

Image via HBO/Warner Bros. Television Distribution

Daenerys Targaryen, Game of Thrones

The mother of dragons proves you don't have to actually have human children to be a mom. She's walked into and out of fires unscathed, hatched dragons, freed slaves, learned an entirely complicated language in a blink and kicked general butt in the name of righting the injustices throughout a good part of the seven kingdoms.

Image via Buena Vista Television/NBC

Sophia Petrillo, Golden Girls

She's sassy, Sicilian and she's the golden girl everyone wants to be in retirement. From incredible one-line zingers to heart-to-heart moments that usually end with a back-handed compliment, Sophia's habit of calling it down the line made her the loveable fourth roommate we would all secretly like the best.

Image via Lionsgate/CBS/Showtime

Nancy Botwin, Weeds

Should this be prefaced with season one Nancy? Probably. She went from mourning widow to successful entrepreneur and showed us how to shirk public opinion in favor of what works for you. Her actual parenting skills should be put in our “10 Worst" list, but her genuine nature and quick wit in the face of actual danger lands her on this list of moms who would be fun to know (but maybe not have stay over at your house.)

Image via Fox/Netflix

Lucille Bluth, Arrested Development

So maybe Lucille's straight talk wasn't necessarily altruistic. She had no idea what the cost of a banana was (hint: It's not $10) and most of her comments could easily have been blamed on her breakfast cocktail, but she said exactly what she was thinking at the very moment she was thinking it. She took no sh-t from anyone and gave us all some cringe-worthy advice to quote long after the show was over.

Image via FOX/20th Television/Disney–ABC Domestic Television

Marge Simpson, The Simpsons

What would Homey do without Marge? She's the pearl-wearing silent force that puts the function in dysfunctional. She can do anything she puts her mind to, and she is the literal glue that holds not only her family but also her whole town together.

Image via PBS/ITV

Violet Crawley, Downton Abbey

She asked the question “What is a weekend?" because she genuinely didn't know and she didn't care what anyone thought. In a post-Victorian era that was changing fast around her, the Dowager Countess met adversity with adaptable wit and a zero tolerance for other people's problems. She simply continued living her life and kept it real. Every. Single. Day.

I used to think being in a healthy relationship meant that things would be easy peasy, but I now know it takes more than "I love yous" to learn how to be a good partner — especially when dealing with mental health. Since it's Mental Health Awareness Month, I figure it's the perfect time to talk about how neurodivergence can show up in relationships — particularly when you're married to or dating someone with ADHD — and why it doesn't have to spell doom.

That's not to say that things like financial red flags or a serial messy partner are things you have to deal with — it's more about realizing what your personal thresholds are while loving someone who perceives things a little differently.

However, sometimes while you're navigating those relationship boundaries on your own, other people's opinions can cloud your perception. Licensed therapist Natalie Rosado, LMHC, of Tampa Bay Counselingand Counseling with Natalie says, "Unfortunately, there are numerous stigmas that can affect how people view these relationships, making dating more challenging." But with over a decade of experiencing helping clients learn to take care of their mental health, Natalie has a few tips that'll help you learn how to be a good partner to someone who has ADHD.

What are common misconceptions about neurodivergence in relationships?

Image via Yan Krukau/Pexels

It seems like as soon as people find out two people are dating, their relationship becomes THE topic of conversation among their peers and otherwise. I know because I'm guilty of letting my curiosity get the best of me, but I try not to make assumptions about what goes on BTS. Knowing this, I can only imagine some of the things that people say about couples where one partner has a diagnosed mental illness or is neurodivergent.

Natalie says the common myths and stigmas associated with these types of relationships are:

  • Relationships with people who have mental health issues are doomed to fail.
  • People with mental health issues are violent and dangerous.
  • Mental health problems are a sign of weakness, and you can 'fix' your partner.
  • You should only consider someone as a romantic partner if they are 'cured' of their mental illness

How can someone effectively communicate with their partner if they ADHD?

Image via Viktoria Slowikowska/Pexels

Someone who has ADHD may process things a little differently than another person, which doesn't have to be a terrible thing. To be more specific, Natalie breaks down how someone can have conversations with a partner who has ADHD. "Effective communication with a partner who has ADHD requires specific strategies because ADHD can affect a person's ability to focus, organize thoughts, listen actively, and manage impulses, which can sometimes make interactions and day-to-day living difficult," she says.

A few ways to navigate this is by doing the following:

  • Seek Understanding of ADHD: Understanding how ADHD can affect communication and behavior can help you develop empathy and more effective strategies tailored to your relationship.
  • Establish Eye Contact: Making eye contact can help them focus and signal that the conversation is important.
  • Check for Understanding: After you’ve communicated something important, ask your partner to repeat back what they've understood. This can ensure that your message has been understood correctly.
  • Use "I" Statements: This can prevent your partner from feeling defensive and keeps the conversation more constructive.

How can you recognize signs that something is triggering your partner?

This is such an important question because sometimes we're not aware that something we're doing or saying is triggering our partners whether they have ADHD or not. Natalie says, "A clear sign that something may be triggering your partner is a noticeable and abrupt change in their mood or behavior," and "Triggers can also provoke physical responses."

Based on her experience, these physical responses can include shaking, trembling, a sudden inability to speak, crying, rapid breathing, or even a panic attack. "Observing these changes can indicate that your partner is experiencing something deeply distressing. If your partner suddenly withdraws from a conversation, shuts down emotionally, or tries to leave the situation entirely, it might indicate that they are feeling overwhelmed or triggered, as well. Or a sudden silence or unusually passive communication can be a sign your partner is triggered," Natalie says.

As someone who's known for finding a way to exit a conversation if I start feeling overwhelmed, I can say that this sounds all too familiar.

What makes having a partner with ADHD difficult? Should that be a dealbreaker?

Deal breakers are subjective, so no one can firmly tell you what you should or shouldn't deal with. At the same time, Natalie wants you to consider some things. "Dating someone with ADHD does have it's unique challenges, but understanding these challenges can help determine whether they might be considered deal-breakers, depending on one's personal limits, the dynamics of the relationship, and the willingness of both partners to work through these concerns."

She makes it clear that some things that may affect your relationship with your partner are their tendency to be inconsistent, distracted, forgetful, and disorganized. If you're finding that it's hard for you to find peace at home or in your relationship, it may be best for you to amicably part ways with your partner.

How can you support a partner with ADHD?

Image via Dmitriy Ganin/Pexels

We're fortunate that we live in a time where talking about mental illness and neurodivergence is more widely embraced, but that doesn't mean everyone is comfortable with the conversation. Natalie says, "As a clinical provider, I have been able to witness first hand the ways that a partner's support can really assist someone with an ADHD diagnosis. First, understanding the symptoms, challenges, and behaviors associated with ADHD can help you empathize with what your loved one is experiencing."

A few of the ways you can help your partner is by listening without judgment or interruption, and acknowledging their struggles, validating their feelings, and reassuring them that it’s okay to feel overwhelmed. Natalie says this "...can help provide a feeling of safety" while "Offering to help organize their environment, set up reminders, or plan daily schedules can help reduce stress and make daily tasks more manageable."

To go the extra mile, Natalie suggests celebrating small milestones and successes to boost their self-esteem and motivation since these two things can also be affected by ADHD.

If you're struggling while dating someone who has ADHD, just know that all relationships hit roadblocks here and there. The best thing you can do is ask yourself what you're honestly able to handle in a relationship, consider finding ways to effectively communicate with and affirm your partner, or decide to walk away.

Mushroom Frittata

Excerpted from Cooking With Mushrooms: A Fungi Lover's Guide to the World's Most Versatile, Flavorful, Health-Boosting Ingredients by Andrea Gentl. Artisan Books © 2022.

SERVES 6 TO 8

  • 1 pound (455 g) fresh mushrooms, such as shiitake, oysters, maitake, or cremini
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 fresh oregano sprigs, leaves only
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) extra-virgin olive oil
  • 12 large egg
  • 1¼ cups (125 g) finely grated pecorino cheese
  • ¼ teaspoon Himalayan pink salt
  • Finely grated zest and juice of ½ lemon, preferably organic
  • Fragrant fresh herbs, such as parsley, mint, and oregano, for garnish

My grandmother, an American-born Puglian, cooked in the manner of cucina povera, which she learned from her mother. This included a ton of vegetables, herbs, spicy dried chiles, and eggs. Frittatas made their way to our table for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, sometimes herby one with oregano and mint, or a pile of leftover pasta, other times filled with slow-cooked, delightfully mushy broccoli rabe, and often a mushroom frittata, usually made with cremini. Like a combination of shiitake and maitake. The flavor is extraordinary—rich, earthy, and a little meaty without any heaviness. The key to this recipe, as with many Puglian dishes, is a nice amount of flavorful olive oil and some sharp, salty pecorino.

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. If using cremini or shiitake mushrooms, thinly slice with a mandoline or sharp knife. If using maitake or oyster, gently tear into small pieces.
  3. In a 10-inch (25 cm) nonstick ovenproof lidded skillet, melt the butter over medium-low heat. When it starts to foam, add the mushrooms and oregano leaves and cook until soft and any liquid has been released, 3 to 5 minutes. Stir in the oil.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, 1 cup (100 g) of the pecorino, and the salt.
  5. Add the egg mixture to the pan and sprinkle the top with the remaining ¼ cup (25 g) cheese, the lemon zest, and lemon juice.
  6. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and cook until the bottom starts to brown, 5 to 10minutes. (Check the eggs by lifting the bottom with a spatula.) Once the bottom starts to brown, transfer the pan to the oven, uncovered.
  7. Bake for 5 minutes, then check to see if the top is puffing up. Cook a few minutes longer if not. The frittata is done when it starts to brown around the edges and a little bit on the top.Look for the oil bubbling up around the sides. This is totally normal. Once you remove the frittata from the oven to cool, the oil will get absorbed into the eggs, making it yummy and so delicious.
  8. Serve the frittata warm or at room temperature, garnished with fresh herbs.
