Photos are powerful: They can tug at the heartstrings and touch the soul. We’ve seen a lot of amazing photo shoots lately, like the heartwarming snaps from a creative photog who managed to include a woman’s deployed husband in their maternity shoot and the chihuahua who announced her pregnancy in full Beyoncé style. But Brazilian photographer Camila Lima may have just outdone them all with a photo session of 100-year-old twins celebrating their birthday in serious style, making us feel ALL the feels.
The 28-year-old photographer heard about the fabulous sisters when she saw a story about them on her local news. “I almost choked on my food because I thought they were so cute,” she told BuzzFeed. Lima immediately reached out to Maria Pignaton Pontin and Paulina Pignaton Pandolfi (who turned 100 on May 20) to ask if she could photograph them in all their stylish glory, and lucky for us all, they agreed.
The resulting two-hour shoot included hair and makeup, two sets of fierce outfits (we can’t decide if we like the floral dresses or tutus better!), and plenty of amazing props, like a pink Volkswagen Beetle complete with balloons.
There were also bundles of flowers (and flower crowns!) and two seriously yummy-looking cakes that perfectly matched their pink and blue skirts.
The now-viral photog revealed: “I take a lot of photos of young couples, and so my love for photographing old couples is a way to inspire my young couples.” We’d definitely say she nailed it.
