OMG: Olive Garden Breadsticks May Soon Be Available for Purchase on Amazon
Now this is a partnership we can get behind! The unlimited purveyor of breadsticks, Olive Garden, is working on a deal with everything-else purveyor Amazon Prime. Since the Italian restaurant chain is always looking for new ways to bring its deliciousness to the masses — remember the Olive Garden food truck? — and Amazon’s food offerings are growing exponentially as the proud new owners of Whole Foods, it was only a matter of time before the two converged.
According to Grub Street, Darden Restaurants, Olive Garden’s parent company, has hinted that their restaurants will soon be testing a delivery program through Amazon Prime to appeal to their numerous millennial fans during an earnings call.

“The only way Amazon is in our world right now is through Amazon Prime delivery,” Darden CEO Gene Lee explained. “We have a test going on with them.” If successfull, Lee vowed, “We’ll continue to partner with them and see if we can make that work.”
Unlike Domino’s emoji ordering system, Olive Garden has no official alternate delivery service, but with or without Amazon, Lee said that will be changing, promising fresh breadsticks will be coming to all doors.
Honestly, we can’t be blamed for any gorging that occurs as a result — come on, even Katy Perry can’t resist the unlimited buttery goodness.
