Was that...Martin Scorsese?!
All The Celebrity Cameos In Apple TV's 'The Studio' You May Have Missed

The first two episodes of The Studio premiered on Apple TV+ on March 26, and the latest satirical comedy series, co-created by Seth Rogen, is proving to be a treasure trove for celebrity cameos.
Seth — who directed, wrote, and produced the show — stars as Matt Remick, the newly appointed head of fictional Continental Studios. He's joined by Catherine O'Hara, who plays a producer named Patty; Kathryn Hahn as a marketer named Maya; Ike Barinholtz as Matt's right-hand man, Sal; and Chase Sui Wonders, who plays a creative executive named Quinn.
"As movies struggle to stay alive and relevant, Matt and his core team of infighting executives battle their insecurities as they wrangle narcissistic artists and craven corporate overlords in the ever-elusive pursuit of making great films," the show's Apple TV+ synopsis reads.
Given the fact that The Studio centers around Hollywood, though, the appearance of stars extends far beyond the show's core cast. In fact, A-list cameos are featured in every single episode as Matt navigates the comical yet real-life-inspired challenges of modern-day filmmaking. So, as you tune into the series, keep an eye out for these celebrity cameos.

At just 27 years old, Keyla Monterroso Mejia has already made a major name for herself in the comedy sphere. She's best known for appearing on shows such as Abbott Elementary, One of Them Days, and the iconic last season of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Now, Keyla portrays a secretary in Matt's office on The Studio.
2. Paul Dano

We first fell in love with Paul Dano during his breakout role as Dwayne Hoover, the troubled teen in Little Miss Sunshine. He went on to star in There Will Be Blood and, more recently, Dumb Money, the 2023 comedy-drama based on the true story of the GameStop short squeeze.
As you watch The Studio, keep an eye out for Paul in the very first scene. He's playing himself while filming a death.
3. Bryan Cranston
Apple TV+
Also in the first episode is Bryan Cranston, the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actor who's revered for his portrayal of Walter White in Breaking Bad and Michael Desiato in Your Honor.
In The Studio, though, Bryan plays Matt's boss, Griffin Mill. He's the CEO of Continental Studios and wants to make a Kool-Aid film.
4. Martin Scorsese
Apple TV+
Meanwhile, Martin Scorsese, the director of countless iconic films, such as Goodfellas, The Age of Innocence, and Killers of the Flower Moon, appears as himself during the new series' first episode.
Martin has an idea for a film centered on the Jonestown massacre, but given the CEO's desire for a Kool-Aid movie, Matt tries to blend the projects.
5. Steve Buscemi

At the tail end of Episode 1, Steve Buscemi also makes an appearance. The actor and director is beloved for his role as Tony Blundetto in The Sopranos and roles in hit films like Fargo. Martin Scorsese paved the way for this cameo, as he'd pictured Steve starring in the Kool-Aid film.
6. David Krumholtz

David Krumholtz stole our hearts as Bernard, the head elf in 1994's The Santa Clause, and Michael Eckman, the scheming teen in 10 Things I Hate About You.
He's taken on more serious roles since then, most notably his portrayal of Isidor Isaac Rabi in 2023's Oppenheimer. And in The Studio, David plays a Hollywood agent named Mitch Weitz.
7. Olivia Wilde
Apple TV+
Olivia Wilde is best known for her roles in House and Tron: Legacy, and as the director of the successful 2022 film Don't Worry Darling, starring Florence Pugh and Harry Styles.
In Episode 4 of The Studio, she portrays herself as she works on directing a new movie. However, she discovers a film reel has disappeared.
8. Zac Efron
Apple TV+
We obviously can't forget about Zac Efron, the High School Musical heartthrob, who went on to star in major successes such as 17 Again, The Greatest Showman, and The Iron Claw.
He also appears in Episode 4, and after Olivia Wilde approaches Matt about the missing film reel, Matt starts to suspect Zac might've been responsible.
9. Ron Howard
Apple TV+
Ron Howard, who's best known for directing the critically acclaimed films Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind, and Frost/Nixon, makes an appearance in Episode 3 of The Studio. Starring as himself, Ron meets up with Matt Remick, the head of Continental Studios, portrayed by Seth Rogen, to discuss his new movie. But Matt is worried about sharing some notes on a pretty personal scene.
10. Peter Berg

Peter Berg, the director of Friday Night Lights and Hancock, also makes a cameo as himself at the very start of The Studio. In Episode 1, he's directing the film featuring Dumb Money star Paul Dano. He's not afraid of pushing back against Matt, either, telling the character, "Buddy, we're good on ideas," when he tries to make a suggestion for the project.
11. Dewayne Perkins
Apple TV+
Comedian and writer Dewayne Perkins appears in Episode 1 as well. The Chicago native, who's starred in works like The Blackening and One of Them Days, plays Tyler, a marketing team member. He works with Maya, portrayed by Kathryn Hahn.
12. Nicholas Stoller

Forgetting Sarah Marshall was an iconic 2008 rom-com starring Jason Segel, Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis, Paul Rudd, Russell Brand, and Jonah Hill. The director behind this production, as well as the Neighbors films featuring Seth Rogen, has a cameo in The Studio as (shocker) himself. Nicholas Stoller shows up in Episode 1 while pitching a Kool-Aid movie idea.
13. Matt Belloni

Matt Belloni, an entertainment journalist and podcaster, does not actually appear on-screen, but his voice is featured in one episode. While Seth Rogen's character is sitting in his car, Matt talks about the Kool-Aid movie on a fictional entertainment podcast entitled The Town.
14. Charlize Theron

Ever since starring as the haunted wife of a successful lawyer in 1997's The Devil's Advocate, Charlize Theron has gone on to have an impressive acting career. Today, she's most well-known for her roles in Mad Max: Fury Road, Snow White and the Huntsman, and The Fate of the Furious. In The Studio, however, Charlize appears as herself toward the close of Episode 1, hosting a party with other celebrities, like Martin Scorsese and Steve Buscemi, in attendance.
15. Sarah Polley
Apple TV+
Canadian filmmaker and writer Sarah Polley, most famous for Women Talking, appears as herself in The Studio, too. She's included in Episode 2, where she's in the middle of filming a new project starring Greta Lee and needs to capture a complex finale shot at golden hour.
16. Greta Lee
Apple TV+
Speaking of Greta Lee, the Korean-American actress best known for her role in Past Lives, appears in Episode 2. She's about to leave for a Jack the Ripper movie directed by Christopher Nolan, but while Sarah Polley is finishing her filming, Greta tries to shmooze Matt into letting her use a private jet for her next press tour.
