Slowly, slowly, Adele has been prepping us for her inevitable exit from the spotlight. Back in September, The Sun reported that she had announced to loved ones that she was ready to bow out of the music biz for the next 10 years in order to be a full-time mom to son Angelo.
But, as it turns out, he might not be the only one she’s playing full-time mommy to. The recently engaged singer told the crowd in Phoenix, Arizona (one of the last stops on her current tour) that she might soon be expecting.
“Give it up for me, I did it!” she exclaimed triumphantly. “I’ll see you on the other side. In a couple of years I’ll be back. (So NOT 10? THANK GOODNESS!) You won’t be able to get rid of me.” She then closed out her mini speech by casually throwing in, “I’m going to have a baby.”
Whoa! Though it’s not completely surprising, considering the fact that she shared the news earlier in the tour that her “womb has been aching,” it’s good news just the same.
Adele has been open about her struggles with post-partum depression in the past, but it’s clear she really loves being a mom ― and with the welcome home she recently received from her family, we can totally see why.
Congratulations on your time off and your new journey, Adele! Cheers to the next chapter.
