Here’s How Evan Ross *Really* Feels About His Wife’s Reality Show Past

Ashlee Simpson has been absent from the reality TV scene since 2005, when her series, The Ashlee SimpsonShow, went off the air. The pop star will soon be heading back to the small screen, this time with her hubby, Evan Ross, for a whole new chapter, but the former pop star hasn’t forgotten her roots. In fact, she and Ross get quite the kick out of the hit that saw her rise to fame — particularly Ross.

Sitting down with E! News to chat about their upcoming series, aptly dubbed Ashlee and Evan, the Star actor revealed told the network how he REALLY feels about his lady love’s onscreen past. I’ve been loving it! It’s great to see her at that time,” the 29-year-old gushed. “It’s the sweetest thing in the world.”

“We’ve had moments where we go back and laugh at ourselves,” she revealed. “I mean, I’m not sitting there, pulling it up, though… he’ll be laughing at me,” she giggled, pointing at her hubby who quickly explained that the laughter comes from a place of pure love. ”

He also can’t get enough of his wife’s musical talent and her penchant for motherhood. “I got lucky,” he added. “The fact that I’ve got a wife who is such an amazing mother, but also so extremely talented. I think there’s always a time for everything. She’s ready now to show her entertainment side and all that kind of stuff. It’s amazing to watch cause she’s so talented.”

Dating is an inevitable part of growing up for a lot of us, but also for our favorite fictional characters. One Tree Hill, The Summer I Turned Pretty, and a plethora of other teen dramas all feature intense relationships, but there are few couples fans care about as much as Rory Gilmore's boyfriends from Gilmore Girls. While she dated Paul and kissed Chad Michael Murray's Tristan, there are really three guys fans talk the most about: Dean Forester, Jess Mariano, and Logan Huntzberger (played by Jared Padalecki, Milo Ventimiglia, and Matt Czuchry, respectively).

When Alexis Bledel was asked who her favorite Rory Gilmore boyfriend is, she combined all three names into "Jeegan" and told Andy Cohen, "I can't single somebody out." Here's what the boyfriends themselves have to say!

Dean Forester (Jared Padalecki)

Image via Neil Jacobs/Netflix

We meet Dean Forester in the very first episode of Gilmore Girls, and he and Rory quickly hit it off. He becomes her first serious boyfriend (which terrifies both Lorelai and Luke), and throughout the beginning of their relationship, Dean is sweet. However, fans agree things take a turn for the worse once Dean becomes a more demanding partner — like pitching a fit when Rory doesn't say "I love you" back and not supporting her Harvard dreams.

It's only heightened by the arrival of Jess Mariano in season 2, and it doesn't take long for Dean and Jess to get into a literal fight at a house party. While the scene is incredibly tense, the main thing actor Jared Padalecki remembers while filming is being on pain meds because of an injury.

“I remember Milo [Ventimiglia] going like, ‘This is kind of ridiculous because you’re twice my size and I’m holding my own,'" he tells EW. Milo agrees, adding, "Jared is 6'4", I’m 5'10". There’s a difference in reach and weight between us. So I usually like to say what Dean had in size and reach, Jess matched in crazy.”

After Dean and Rory break up, Dean marries Lindsay Lister, but ends up having an affair with Rory during season 4 before ending his marriage. Throughout Gilmore Girls season 5, Dean and Rory attempt to rekindle their relationship before deciding to split for good.

During Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life, Dean and Rory run into each other at the market where they shared their first kiss, and after reminiscing on the past, part ways to move forward with their lives.

While fans continually agree Dean is one of the worst Rory Gilmore boyfriends ("dear god i hate dean," one X user tweeted), Jared Padalecki maintains close relationships with the cast. He had a super sweet interaction with Milo Ventimiglia after the This Is Us star showed Jimmy Fallon an “I love Dean 4 Ever” sign attached to his Emmy nomination.

“Jared and I are really good friends,” Milo, a self-proclaimed member of Team Dean, says.

"Ohmigod @miloanthonyventimiglia our offices are SO SIMILAR!!" Jared says in an Instagram response. "TWINSIES! (Well, I don’t have an Emmy nomination, but I DO have a “Best Body” trophy that was worth every dollar @genpadalecki paid for it on Hollywood & Vine). Miss ya brother. Couldn’t be more proud of ya."

Jess Mariano (Milo Ventimiglia)

Image via Netflix

Jess Mariano has some serious walls up when he moves in with Luke during Gilmore Girls season 2, but he takes a very quick liking to Rory. Their initial friendship is built on books, and it becomes stronger when they realize how comfortable they are confiding in each other. The relationship experiences some hiccups when Jess crashes Rory's car, and when Rory kisses him at Sookie St. James' wedding in the season 2 finale.

As a member of Team Jess myself, I'm over the moon every time I get to season 3 during my Gilmore Girls rewatch (you know, after Dean and Rory split and her relationship with Jess begins). And apparently, I'm not the only one!

“I’m team Jess," Jared Padalecki tells US Weekly. "I admit it. I even told Milo. I’m totally team Jess.”

However, it might surprise you to learn Milo is not. "Jess was a child," he tells InStyle. "I think Jess had a lot of life to live. And I don't think he was quite set up the best way in his younger years — not having a father, not having a parent. He had to find his way on his own a little bit."

Image via Netflix

Jess' relationship with Rory is just as crazy in season 3 as it is in season 2. Jess learns he'll have to repeat senior year if he wants to graduate high school, but refuses to tell Rory, which leads to more than one fight between the couple. And after telling Rory he can't take her to prom, Jess leaves to find his father in Venice Beach (this concept was actually supposed to be a spinoff about the character called Windward Circle, but the series never got picked up). However, Jess briefly returns to Stars Hollow one last time to tell Rory he loves her, and to ask her to come to New York, which she refuses.

Jess arguably brings out the best in Rory during Gilmore Girls season 6, when he finds out she dropped out of college, asking the now-viral "Why did you drop out of Yale?!" and encouraging her to patch things up with Lorelai.

When he shows up to support both Luke and Rory in A Year In The Life, the exes have a friendly catch-up — but I'm convinced *that* final look means he wishes they were something more.

Logan Huntzberger (Matt Czuchry)

Image via Saeed Adyani/Netflix

Logan Huntzberger enters Rory's life during Gilmore Girls season 5, when she begins her first year at Yale University. While they start off on the wrong foot, Rory and Logan grow closer after the Yale Daily News assigns her a story about The Life and Death Brigade (Logan's secret society), and she joins them for a weekend in the woods.

The two fall for each other, and while Rory is ready to date Logan, he initially tells her he's not interested in an exclusive relationship. However, he quickly changes his tune when faced with losing her, and they officially begin their relationship.

The Huntzberger family doesn't approve of Rory as a match, and to top it off, Logan's dad (a huge force in the newspaper industry) doesn't think she's cut out for the career. By the end of season 5, Rory's convinced Logan to steal a yacht with her, winds up in jail, decides to drop out of Yale, and agrees to move in with her grandparents — all within, like, 48 hours.

While some fans are convinced Logan is the best choice for Rory, Matt Czuchry admits there's no "perfect" match for our leading lady. “I think [all three of Rory Gilmore's boyfriends have] strengths and weaknesses, like we all do,” he says on an episode of The Talk. “And I think that the fun of the show is that you’ve got these characters who are flawed and had these great pieces and everybody debates who’s best for Rory because they feel different about their strengths and weaknesses that might match up.”

However, Gilmore Girls screenwriter Stan Zimmerman disagrees! “Even though I don’t approve of all his character’s choices in later seasons and the reboot, I’ll always be ‘Team Logan,’” he says in his book The Girls: From Golden to Gilmore.

Image via Saeed Adyani/Netflix

Rory and Logan's relationship starts off rocky in season 6 when the couple decides to take a temporary break. But even after they patch things up, the rift deepens when Rory learns Logan slept with other women during what he thought was a permanent split. But when Logan is injured during a jumping accident with the Brigade, Rory realizes how much she loves him and rushes to his side to help take care of him.

Despite initially wanting to just be friends with benefits at the beginning of their relationship, Logan is head over heels for Rory by Gilmore Girls season 7 and proposes — but their relationship seems to end for good when Rory turns him down.

Like the rest of Rory Gilmore's boyfriends, we see Logan in A Year In The Life thanks to his affair with Rory (despite his engagement to someone else) — which costumer Valerie Campbell confirms means he's the father of her baby.

Harry Potter is one of my go-to comfort movies when I need a dose of nostalgia. I own a replica of Hermione Granger's Yule Ball earrings, and my Harry Potter Funko figurine sits in my room at all times — including during my Zoom call with Tom Felton. He's excited about Funko's newest collab with Kinder Joy, but is maybe less so about my Harry Potter house scarf, which confirms I'm a Ravenclaw instead of a Slytherin like him ("That looks blue to me," the actor, who played Draco Malfoy, jokes).

He might tease his cast mates on Instagram for the fact they're also not in Slytherin, but rest assured, it's all in good fun. "There's definitely a group chat, I'm pretty sure it's titled Potterheads," he says with a smile. "It sounds cheesy [but] we do feel like a family. So it's great to see any of them. I golf with the Weasley twins [James and Oliver Phelps] a lot. When I'm lucky enough to see Dan [Radcliffe] in his new plays, it's always great. Rupert [Grint] lives around the corner from me in London, so I see him quite frequently."

Image via Stephen Lovekin/Getty Images

Reconnecting with the rest of the cast of Harry Potter isn't the only thing that transports Tom Felton back in time — seeing his brand new Funko does too! "Usually when someone...shows me a new version, I'm just like, 'Where did you get it?'" he says. "There's one of Draco in his Quidditch outfit, which immediately takes me back to my broomstick days. But they all have their own unique little charms."

Funko is currently collaborating with Kinder Joy, which Tom and I agree feels like the muggle version of the Hogwarts Express trolley ("You get excited about the chocolate, and then after that, you get the Easter egg surprise inside"). He also says both brands bring up plenty of memories from his 10-year stretch at Hogwarts.

And as it turns out, Tom Felton and I have very vivid memories around the same movie: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. My local children's museum hung larger-than-life posters promoting the film, and I remember feeling how much emotional weight this particular movie held, especially as we neared the end of the story. The 2009 film catapulted the series into its final two installments, and played a huge role in Draco Malfoy's arc.

"[At the time,] we weren't privy to where our characters were going so all I did really was just focus on who [Draco] was in that particular film," Tom says. "Which is why shooting Half-Blood Prince was probably the most enjoyable. To see the the reason why Draco is, well, the way he is, I thought it was very impactful and I'm amazed at the subtleties that fans pick up on now about his story. It's a very multi-layered character."

Image via Dan Kitwood/Getty Images

While Tom Felton says Draco's not a good guy, he also believes the character doesn't want to end up like his father. "I think he would rather make peace than start another fight," he tells me. "He's done enough fighting...I think it's time that he chilled out a bit."

For his own relaxation, Tom recently made a trip to the Harry Potter Studio Tour in Leavesden (where the cast filmed the series) "just to sort of pop in and see home."

"I spent like three hours...just walking around and seeing how much people enjoy it," he says. "There was a teenager with her mom taking a picture of my costume and I couldn't help but photo bomb thinking it was, you know, a nice surprise or it would be funny. But I was quickly ushered [away] by her mom saying, 'Would you mind?' So I thought that was quite funny."

Even if you haven't made the trip to London to see the Studios in person, you probably recognize them from Max's Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts special, where Tom Felton reunited with the rest of the Harry Potter cast.

"I think the 20-year reunion was the reminder of, crikey time flies," he continues. "We're all bona fide adults now, but still feel like kids, I think, at heart because as soon as you put us all in the room together, we just go back to who we were when we first met. So that's a nice feeling."

Rapid Fire With Tom Felton

Brit + Co: You record your own music, but what are you listening to right now?

Tom Felton: It changes day to day. I mean, my staple answer is the Beatles because I never get bored of it. George Harrison being my — well, not favorite Beatle, you can't really pick one, but you know what I mean — I listen to a lot of his stuff. I love Ed Sheeran's work, huge fan of him. I recently discovered a new artist, Ren. Really think he's very skillful so I've been enjoying his music too.

Brit + Co: Harry Potter is our ultimate comfort watch, what's yours?

Tom Felton: I wanna say something that [Harry Potter director] Chris Columbus has done, like Home Alone is a very comforting film. I mean, even The Borrowers, to be fair, was pretty cool. The Simpsons was a big one.

Image via Warner Bros.

Brit + Co: Would Draco get along with any of the other characters you've played?

Tom Felton: It depends how old Draco was, but long answer short, no. I played the Boogie Man in a film called Babysitter's Guide to Monster Hunting and he's a bit of an evil rock star. So, maybe they would meet up once a week to play chess together.

Brit + Co: Who's your dream future co-star?

Tom Felton: I mean, I'd work with any one of my fellow wizards and witches again. I suppose off the bat I would say Jason Isaacs just because I love working with him and you learn so much [from him]. But I think also there is a secret desire for me and Daniel [Radcliffe] to be in a film together where he plays the villain and I get to be the good guy.

Both choices totally stand out against the lime green detail of the backdrop!

Where did Kirsten Dunst meet her husband Jesse Plemons?

Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons met on the set of Fargo where the two co-starred. And although they had an instant connection, they didn't start actually dating until after filming wrapped. So they met in 2015, started dating in 2016, got engaged in 2017, and were pregnant by 2018.

Dunst said in an interview with theLA Times, "We fell in love creatively first. He was like a creative soul mate to me and the way we both work. On Fargo I knew after two weeks. I didn’t remember saying this, but one of my best friends told me that I said to her that 'I will know this man for the rest of my life. I just know it.'" How sweet is that?! We're just obsessed with this sweet couple.

Have Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons been in any movies or TV shows together?

After filming and falling in love on Fargo, the pair went on to work with each other again in The Power of the Dog, for which they both received Oscar nominations! What a successful team they make! Kirsten said in an interview with the LA Times, "We love working together. So, it’s really, really easy to work with each other. We’re very honest. We’re very down to try anything. No one judges anybody. There’s no ego. It’s just, how do we make this the most alive together and the most real?" It makes sense that since they fell in love working together that it just comes naturally for the pair!

Have Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons won any Oscars?

The pair have been nominated for many awards, but both of them were actually nominated for an Oscar for the first time together! They found out they were both nominated together via a phone call that Kirsten later recounted to Jesse. She recalls the conversation in an interview with Variety by saying, "Then I called Jesse, and I was the first person to tell him, and he was a little shell shocked. I mean, it’s just so crazy to be a couple and have our first nominations together. It’s like a storybook. You know what I mean? It’s so weird. It’s amazing." However, unfortunately the two haven't won any Academy Awards...yet!

In an interview with VogueDunst says, "My husband and I were nominated together. Honestly, I was more excited that he got nominated than me. And then to do that together, who gets that?" It's so sweet that they're so incredible supportive of each other and their successes.

Do Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons have children?

The pair have two children together, born in 2018 and 2022. Their first son is named Ennism and the second is named James! They got pregnant shortly after being engaged, and their sons are just the absolute cutest. On the name Ennis, Jesse told Jimmy Kimmel on Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2019, "It’s like an old cowboy name. We found it online. You know, on those baby websites where you just keep scrolling. We were like, ‘We like that. It sounds cool.’”

Today, they are still as in love as ever raising their 2 sweet kiddos. In an interview with Voguethis April Dunst said, "My son has been watching the OG Spiderman sometimes. He doesn't care that I'm in it." Safe to say, they don't know their mom is an absolute icon!

We love this sweet couple and can't wait to see what they get up to next!

The baby name business has gotten a bit out of hand. While we love unique names, sometimes names like Toaster or Tree just don’t have the same ring as, say, Leila or Patrick. But we totally get the desire to have a name that differs from the mainstream. After all, our names are Olivia Taylor and Jasmine Williams…which are very popular.

People are literally paying Baby Name Consultants, like TikToker Colleen, to generate a list of top names for their little bundle of joy.

This concept isn’t all that new, but the idea of paying thousands of dollars for a list of names certainly is. The Wall Street Journal reported on the rise of baby name consultants and “the art of ‘branding’ your newborn” in 2007. With the boom in baby naming books circa early 2000s and the rise in funky celeb baby names like Apple Martin and Shiloh Jolie-Pitt (and today’s celeb baby names like Moxie CrimeFighter Jillette, Pilot Inspektor and Exa Dark Sideræl), baby-naming has become a source of stress and incredible importance. So stressful, in fact, that a few thousand dollars doesn’t look so bad.

Don't worry though – we definitely won’t charge you $10k for your baby’s unique name. Instead, here are 16 baby names that are cute and unique, and might be the perfect fit for your little one.

Unique Baby Names For Your Son

We know this process can be stressful, but don’t worry. As a new parent, you have so many other things taking up space in your mind, and this shouldn’t be one of them. Whatever baby name you go with, we’re sure it will be amazing.

The ultimate micro-trend of this spring and summer seems to be… wearing men’s boxers as shorts. I know it sounds a little risqué – sporting undergarments out in the open and all – but the boxer shorts trend is delightfully approachable, easy, and super adorable. Like most other fashion trends I encounter, it first popped off with some TikTok outfit check videos. I was hooked from the first scroll.

In a summer full of record-breaking heat, light, breezy boxers are a godsend. They give you the opportunity to simply wear something that *won’t* suffocate you while you’re already feeling self-conscious about sweating. Aside from being a practical pick, the boxer shorts trend gives you that stylish, effortless, and oh-so desired ‘model off-duty’ look. It’s giving “I just rolled out of bed,” but with a more tailored twist.

How to Style Boxer Shorts

John Galt White & Blue Striped Boxer Shorts

The key to styling the boxer shorts trend is ensuring your ensemble has a healthy mix of different styles. If you opt for a casual, oversized tee atop the shorts, it’s going to look like you’re wearing pajamas – which, technically, is what they are, but the idea is to wear them like they’re not.

You want to dress your boxer shorts up a bit! All the girlies are matching their cowboy boots, mini purses, bikinis, button-downs, ballet flats, sneakers (Adidas Sambas, I see you), and blazers with boxer shorts, helping balance out their informal flair. Here are 10 pairs to abide by the boxers shorts trend with creative ways to style them!

Old Navy Soft-Washed Boxer Shorts 5-Pack

This multipack of basic boxer shorts hosts 5 different colors. Pair them with a baby tee and Birkenstocks slides (inspired by this adorable casual get-up) for a loungewear-like feel!

Comme Si La Boxer Classica

These boxer shorts from Comme Si have all the dainty details that elevate their look, like the front label and buttons! The light blue shade could be worn with a denim short sleeve shirt and cowgirl boots for a Western, coastal cowgirl-esque vibe! From there, layer on the gold jewelry and retro sunnies.

Urban Renewal Remnants Made In LA Button Front Boxer Short

It's safe to say I'm obsessed with these colors! If your boxer shorts 'fit is craving more color, opt for this pair from Urban Outfitters. They feature the classic three-button detail at the front, and a stretchy waistband that moves with you. I could see myself styling these with an oversized graphic tee and clogs!

John Galt White & Blue Striped Lace Trim Boxer Shorts

The lacy trim that lines the hem of these boxer shorts is just adorable. It adds an air of femininity to your look, no matter what shirts or shoes you wear these shorts with. Beware that this pair is a bit more low-waisted than your usual boxer shorts – any longline top will work well with them.

Goodfellow & Co Woven Boxers

This is a boxer shorts deal *too* good to pass up – you get 5 for $17! Your summer wardrobe will be full of effortless outfits, thanks to this pack. Wear them with a dainty pointelle tank top and ballet flats for a feminine flair that approaches balletcore.

Oddli Boxers

Made sustainably from deadstock fabrics, this Oddli design is any girl's boxer shorts dream. Any of the colors they come in (um, like 17!) could be dressed up with a sporty jacket over a solid tube top, and trendy sneakers or sturdy boots on the feet.

Aerie Seersucker Boxer

The material on these boxer shorts keeps everything feeling light and cool. The multicolor colorway makes them feel a little less pajama-y, and make them the ultimate candidate to pair with a gauzy white linen button-up!

J. Crew End-on-End Cotton Boxer Short

Flaunting a sportier fit, these boxer shorts from J. Crew are more than easy to wear. I can see the darker colorway of this pair going *so* well with a white tank and light pink cardigan – and if the sweater gets too warm, you could always tie the sleeves over your shoulders for a preppy take on the boxer shorts trend.

Gap Organic Cotton Striped Poplin Shorts

These higher-waisted boxer shorts are made of 100% organic cotton, keeping things light and breezy down there. The lush green color is spring and summer's perfect match, and the vertical striped pattern on these bottoms only adds to their trendiness. You could snag the matching shirt from Gap, or go crazy and pair these with a baby tee and boots!
