Daylight savings just hit, and although our tech usually takes care of changing our clocks for us, our bodies might still struggle with a new sleep schedule – our clocks go forward one hour, so we end up losing an hour of sleep, plus we have to go to bed an hour earlier than we're used to. So, in the spirit of falling asleep quickly and waking up refreshed, we're sharing some of the best teas for sleep, ranked in order of preference and their overall sleepy-factor. Herbal teas are the most effective teas for sleep because unlike black teas, herbal teas are often very low in caffeine content or are uncaffeinated altogether. Chamomile, lavender, ginger, lemon balm, and valerian root tea are some of the most popular (and effective) kinds of tea for sleep.

Generally, it is safe to drink sleepytime tea every night. According to Sleep Care Online, frequent use or overuse of sleepytime tea could result in headaches, dizziness, or stomach issues because of ingredients like valerian.

According to Mayo Clinic, people who are pregnant are best off avoiding sleepytime tea altogether. Certain herbal ingredients can pose a threat to pregnancy.

#3: DAVIDs TEA Organic Mother's Little Helper Tea

David's Tea offers the best of both worlds: their tea is high-quality and loose-leaf (also available in sachets, if you prefer!), but still affordable and easy to find. Their Mother's Little Helper tea — which is great for everyone, not just moms — helps support R&R with valerian, chamomile, lemongrass, hibiscus, and peppermint. It goes for $8 for 1.7 ounces of loose-leaf tea.

#2: MUD\WTR Rest Tea

While not your typical tea, per say, MUD/WTR's adaptogenic blend of turkey tail (a type of mushroom), rooibos chai, valerian, chamomile, and reishi (another mushroom) is certainly tea-based, and has the additional benefit of sleep-supporting 'shrooms for your nighttime routine. I love a good surprise, especially when the surprise goes off without a hitch. For Nina's 35th birthday, Shaun (as well as a bunch of their friends like Julianne Hough) surprised Nina with a Disney trip and judging by Nina's reaction, it was just about the best present she could have asked for. The day consisted of a custom Mickey jacket, taking a party bus, roller coasters, and more!
