Netflix
Mindhunter
I’ve had the biggest crush on Jonathan Groff ever since I first got my hands on the Spring Awakening soundtrack over a decade ago. So when I heard the Broadway actor was starring in a serial killer drama as the top FBI agent in the 1970s, I was… well, a bit perplexed. I’m so used to Groff portraying whimsical roles in bubbly musicals (Frozen, Glee) that I was shocked to hear he was taking on such a dark, serious part. But when I finally watched Mindhunter, I understood why it’s widely considered one of the best Netflix shows of all time.
If you’re looking for a series that explores the life of an empathetic FBI Agent tackling the biggest monster serial killers of the decade, Mindhunter is your show. Fair warning: it’s not for the faint of heart.
Netflix
Too Much
Excuse me, but why aren’t more people talking about Too Much? The romantic comedy series, created by Girls star and creator Lena Dunham, follows Jessica, an American fish out of water who moves to London after a horrible breakup. She has always romanticized London culture due to all the romance movies she’s grown up with, yet her real-life experience is quite different. In fact, it’s sort of horrendous at times. She lights herself on fire just hours after arriving at her flat.
Fortunately, she has the help of London indie rocker, Felix, played by The White Lotus alum, Will Sharpe. Will this man turn out to be the youMr. Darcy to her Elizabeth?
This series is as funny as it is heartfelt, and I truly think it deserves more recognition.

Netflix
Dead To Me
This three-season show is honestly a masterpiece — but not enough people are talking about it! Starring Christina Applegate (Bad Moms), Linda Cardellini (No Good Deed), and James Marsden (Paradise), this story follows Jen as she grieves the sudden and tragic loss of her late husband. When Jen meets Judy at grief group, they form an unlikely bond that takes twist and turns you could never imagine. The show is heartfelt, heartbreaking, and downright hilarious at times. A can't-miss watch!

Netflix
Lupin
Crime drama lovers, this one's for you! Lupin is a French series that follows an incredibly renowned thief who also happens to be a brilliant master of disguise. The show will return for season 4, but there's no official release date at the moment. Still, this international hit hasn't made it's way to the masses in the same way Emily in Paris has — despite the shared Eiffel Tower of it all. Definitely binge the last 3 seasons before the newest comes out!

Netflix
The Haunting of Bly Manor
It's no secret that Mike Flanagan's The Haunting of Hill House was a major Netflix hit — but Bly Manor is even better if you ask me. When Dani (Victoria Pedretti) takes on a new nannying role, she has no idea what secrets her new home holds. This paranormal love story takes what you know about classic hauntings and turns it on its head...and breaks your heart in the process. I rewatch it every fall because it's just that good!

Netflix
Dash and Lily
OMG, you guys. When I tell you, this was one of the cutest, most lighthearted romantic comedies that I have ever seen. This underrated series is especially beloved by New Yorkers, since it explores all the most iconic places the city has to offer. The most fun part? The bulk of the story centers around the Strand bookstore. New York Bookworms, unite! Sure, it’s a holiday romance, and sure, it’s currently July. But who doesn’t love a Christmas/Hanukkah story in the middle of summer? If you want a Netflix show that’ll leave you saying “Awww” every five minutes, Dash and Lily is your ideal binge.

Netflix
Love is Blind: Sweden
I know we’ve all watched the American version of Love is Blind through the cracks of our fingers, but I’m telling you, the Swedish version is a gazillion times better. And this is coming from someone who loves the US version! If you can’t get enough of the messy romance drama/bubbling tensions/shocking betrayals with a beautiful Swedish backdrop, you’re going to adore Love is Blind, Sweden. I know I do.

Netflix
The Sandman
All I want to do is gab about The Sandman with my friends, but whenever I try, they have no idea (literally no idea) what the heck I’m talking about. That’s why I’m adding this hidden Netflix gem to the list. The Sandman, based on the comic books, centers around Dream, a man who has the ability to control the dreams of others. But what happens when he’s captured by evil forces and taken prisoner for over a century? Madness, that’s what. Fans adore the stunning cinematography, original premise, and brilliant acting. If you love fantasy, The Sandman is perfect for you.

Netflix
Derry Girls
Looking for a good laugh and already binged all your comfort comedies? Derry Girls is honestly the perfect watch! Set in the '90s, this Irish show follows a group of teens navigating their coming-of-age amidst Catholic school, political unrest, and their absolutely unique parents. Truly a belly-laugh kind of show — and it even stars Bridgerton's very own Nicola Coughlan!

Netflix
Locke & Key
Based off of Gabriel Rodriguez and Joe Hill's comics, this Netflix show is definitely a unique one! It follows three siblings who lose their father and move back into their family home. However, the house has one very key trait that makes it stand out — it's full of magical keys that have their own powers, for good and evil. This is definitely a must-watch for fantasy fans!

Netflix
Glow
I can't get over how good this show is. Even though it only ran for two seasons, Glow — starring Alison Brie (Apples Never Fall) and Betty Gilpin (American Primeval) — was comedy gold. It's about a misfit group of women wrestlers who change the face of the sport, one wildly creative show at a time. I absolutely loved this show, and desperately wish we could get more seasons!
