30 Fab Hair Accessories to Upgrade Any ‘Do

It’s a universally acknowledged truth that a young woman in possession of good hairmust be in want of an accessory. But seriously, even Jane Austen knew that accessories make the outfit. And when it comes to your ‘do, the accessories are twice as important. You wouldn’t want a pal or stranger to gush over your awesome threads and completely overlook the hair you lovingly deep condition and style, would you? To save you from such a fate, we collected 30 dreamy hair accessories that show off your ‘do and your signature style.

1. Starry-Eyed Headband ($20): Apricot is one of this season’s hottest hues, and combined with a cool blue it makes a slammin’ beaded headband. Plus, this bright gem will definitely make your tan pop.

2. Wrapped in Enchantment Hair Chain ($28): We love this elegant, subtle way to dress up an updo. It’s inevitable that we’ll turn to our tried and true chignon for all kinds of different events, but that doesn’t mean our bun has to be boring.

3. Through the Wire Headband ($15): Rosie the Riveter ain’t got nothin’ on you. Channel your inner mid-century modern with this cute polka dot headband.

4. Belleza Bobby Set ($28): Bobby pins are a must in every girl’s hair arsenal. And while the classic hair-hued pins are great for everyday pinning and tucking, sometimes we need a little glitz and glam.

5. Little Leaf Headband ($14): Wear this circlet of gold leaves like the goddess you are.

6. A Twist in the Plot Headband ($20): We love rope braids in our hair, so obviously we will love them around our hair as well. This band is a perfect way to make messy bedhead hair look purposeful.

7. Hairuwear 16″ Ombre Extension ($49): It’s no secret how much we love ombre, but we totally get it if you’re not willing to commit to rocking it 24/7. A clip-in extension is a happy medium — you’re on trend when you want, and right back to normal when you don’t.

8. Delicate Delights Hair Comb ($30): Romantic and retro are two of our favorite R’s, and this hair comb is both. We can see it being super versatile, too — fancy enough for your wedding ‘do, but also a quick clip-in to dress up your summer picnic outfit.

9. Lace Headband ($12): Lace is feminine and carefree. Plus this stylish accessory is mint, so you know we can’t resist!

10. Goodness Grows Headband ($16): You know our favorite hair accessories list wouldn’t be complete without at least one flower crown. Wear it for a woodland picnic or rock it at your fave music festival. Basically, don’t leave home without it.

11. Karina Elastic Ties ($4): If you’re still using the black rubberband-style hair ties, it’s time to upgrade. These elastic ties are no-kink and silky (less-frizz!), and they come in all sorts of fun colors and patterns.

12. Ombre Jersey Turban ($28): We did say we liked ombre. We especially like it in this effortlessly chic twisted turban style.

13. Seashell Hairpiece ($165): We can’t forget the brides in the audience. This gorgeous, intricate hairpiece is perfect for a beach wedding. Now all you need is some mermaid makeup to go with it!

14. Hairuwear Hair Color Strip Extension ($10): The best thing about temporary hair colors is the opportunity to play with all sorts of outrageous hues and styles. This clip-in color strip is perfect for those mornings when you’re too lazy to mess with your hair chalk.

15. Taking Flight Headband in Mint ($22): Neon colors, braids and feathers — this headband has our name on it. It would be an awesome… early Labor Day present?

16. So in Love Hair Comb ($9): Please tell us you also had those pastel bird barrettes when you were a kid. If so, get ready to squeal with excitement over this grown-up gold version. And if you missed out in the ’90s, now’s your chance!

17. Queen of Quirk Headband ($25): We told you, flower crowns can complete any look.

18. My Pet Octopus Hair Clip ($10): We were pumped when we saw the bird hair comb, but an octopus?! Score!

19. Claws for Celebration Headband ($15): This is the purr-fect headband to top off any look. Who says cat costumes are only for Halloween? We want to declare our cat lady status to the world loud and proud whenever we want.

20. Calm River Headband ($20): Another one of the season’s hottest hues, coral looks great in this bead and stone band. We’re resisting the urge to try it out as a bib necklace, too.

21. Free Spirited Scarf ($9): We’re so glad headscarves are coming back in. After all, we need a chance to show off the mad skills we developed playing with our mom’s as kids. It’s another accessory that can fit any style — classic and elegant or boho chic.

22. Deco-rate Your ‘Do Hair Pins Set ($9): Finally, the finishing touch for your Great Gatsby-inspired outfit. Now you can flap with the best of them.

23. Braided Daisy Flower Crown ($18): Alright, we know, enough with the floral pieces. But it’s a beautiful option for the minimalist who wants to get in on the flower crown action in a different kind of way.

24. Bow Tie Pony Holders ($18): Give your pony a little pizzazz with a bow tie holder. You can use the bold print to make a statement in your otherwise conservative workwear, or coordinate it with a mix of bold patterns.

25. Color the Coast Headband ($20): Talk about festival style. The rainbow, the geometric pattern, the awesome sunnies… our inner Cali girl is showing.

26. Chain the Rules Hair Comb ($15): This is the hair version of those midi chain rings. We love that it brings your ear into the game, and it’s such a unique piece that it’ll be a great conversation starter.

27. Bloomswirl Clip ($15): Shabby chic, retro, totally DIY-able — this hair clip has hit the trifecta. Add in gems, rhinestones and seed pearls, and we just don’t know what to do with ourselves.

28. Feathered Ombre Headband ($38): Feathers and ombre are a perfect pairing, and this headband is clearly their lovechild. Wear it with cherry red lips to channel a vintage ’50s look, or pair it with a fringe vest to get your hippie on.

29. I Adorn You Headband ($22): We love the ivory band with the black, white and green feathers. It’s just begging us to ditch work and spend the day picnicking down by the river.

30. Harvest Flower Crown Headwrap ($245): Go big or go home. Flowers, feathers and mad height combine to create the grandest flower crown of all. You might look a little like Neville’s grandmother, but she clearly had some killer style.

Are you ready to go all-in on a chic flower crown or is a subtle hair comb more your style? Shout out with your faves below!

Browsing through Pinterest for hairstyle inspo is honestly a favorite pastime of mine. Lately, I've had braids on the brain, scrolling through summer-inspired styles, and I'm kind of obsessed. So many celebs have been spotted in braids recently — especially our fave Taylor Swift who sports the style almost every time she's papped as of late. And while the tried-and-true simple braid is always a smooth move, there are so many different ways to incorporate braids into your hair for summer! We chatted with braids specialist, Ellie Mulqueen and founder of The Roslyn, Katelyn Ellsworth to learn more about these sweet styles. So keep scrolling for even more ways to add a little flair to your hair with our favorite braided hairstyles!

Half-Up Braided Crown

Photo via Ellie Mulqueen

This is a super simple style that we'd love to see you rock! And we have all the details on how you can achieve it! Our hair expert, Mulqueen, says, "Take two small sections of hair from each side of your head, braid them, and secure them at the back of your head to create a braided crown effect while leaving the rest of your hair down. You can dress this style up or down, it’s perfect for summer!" And voila, it's as easy as that! We can not wait to try this one. It's perfect for weddings or any events where you want to dress up your hair a little bit!

Bubble Braids

Photo via Getty

One of our favorite looks for summer are forever and always bubble braids! To achieve this, you simply need colorful hair bands and lots of braided sections to add texture.

Ellsworth says, "Braids are amazing for the summer and can be worn in so many different ways. Styling, even the most basic of braids can be fun. Using glitter, earrings, or even pops color with string or extensions is always a fun way to dress up a basic “B” braid. Using multiple braid techniques on one style is going to be seen a lot this year in festivals and in the wild." She adds, "Taking it back to Brittany style with crimps/waves and micro braids will be making it back into 2024 summertime. So get your accessories and your braid guides ready to the room with your style and accessorized braids."

Bubble braids are definitely the perfect way to standout and add some statement pieces to your hairstyle! Throw in some butterfly clips, and you're a Y2K goddess for sure!

Fishtail braid

Photo via Ellie Mulqueen

One bonus about this braid? It keeps your hair out of your face and from getting knotted. Mulqueen says, "Adding braids into your hairstyles for summer is a great way to keep your hair healthy and tangle free!" And this fishtail braid is sure to protect your hair in such a cute way! Simply take a piece from either side and tuck it in-between; just repeat this until you get the braid you want!

Ponytail Braid

We simply adore this look on Zendaya, and we definitely think this style will will pop up more and more with the rise of tenniscore and impending beach days! It's so simple that all you need to do is put your hair in a slicked-back ponytail, braid the ponytail like you would normally, then put in a bow for added effect! And there you have a chic, fun hairstyle for the summer!

Floral Fun

Photo via Ellie Mulqueen

I absolutely love this braid hairstyle for summer! You can find some flowers (fresh or fake) and pin them to your hair with either clips or bobby-pins and there you have it; a fresh bouquet braid! However, if you're less interested in (or don't have time for) the DIY of it all, you can also just buy clips that have these details on them already at Target or Amazon. I love how elegant this style looks, especially for the upcoming wedding season! This looks straight from our Pinterest board and I need to try it so don't mind me running to Trader Joe's for some fresh flowers immediately...

Braided Bun

Photo via Ellie Mulqueen

For this style, it may seem complicated, but it's actually quite simple! You braid a tiny section of hair (like the small, center braid above) and then do a very loose fishtail braid underneath it. For a fishtail, all you do is divided the hair into two sections and take pieces from the outer edges of either side and drag them to the middle one at a time. Then put your hair into a messy, chic bun like so! We love this fun style for wedding season, too!

It is a reminder to open your eyes, to see the world in a new way." Going for a big chop can be intimidating, especially when opting for more layered haircuts after years of consistently long locks. Luckily, we rounded up the trending layered haircuts that will have you running to the salon to book your next appointment! Our favorite experts gave us the inside scoop on what haircuts are trending this season. And an added bonus? They work for all different hair textures! So don't worry if you have straight or curly hair — we've got you covered with the perfect layered haircuts, plus all the expert advice you need to get it.

Face Framing Pieces

Photo via Roman Bond/Instagram

If you're wanting to stay more risk-averse and opt for a simple, flattering cut then we have the one for you! Face framing layers are an amazing way to really help shape your face and flatter your features. Hair stylist and expert Roman Bond says, "Incorporating small layers around the face can delicately shape and enhance one's features, exuding an aura of softness and sophistication." That sounds like a dream to us!

Classic All-Around Layers

Image via Instagram/@renee.valerie

If you want to stay a little more tame with your hairstyle but still want to incorporate something new, then we suggest going with a classic-layered cut. This will keep your hair looking natural but still give it new dimension and depth.

I love classic layers, especially when they go all around with face-framing pieces that are flattering to all face shapes as well. Renee Valeriesays, "Introducing layers to longer hair is an effortless and subtle method to boost volume, create movement, and infuse a touch of softness to the style."

Short, Textured Cut

Photo via Roman Bond/Instagram

This is a look that will allow you to try out a shorter style without being too risky! This flattering cut works on so many hair types because it allows straight hair to gain some volume and textured hair to sit at a nice length with some dimension.

Roman Bondsays, "Individuals with thick, porous hair who prioritize manageability and styling versatility may benefit from shorter, textured layers. These layers are adept at distributing volume and facilitating styling efforts, particularly for those who can’t imagine their lives without blow-dryer or Airwraps."

This cut is perfect if you want to test out a shorter, more layered length without going too far! I love the mid-length for summer as well.

Longer Layered Haircuts

Image via Roman Bond/Instagram

Long layers is another insanely perfect hairstyle we love to see! We adore this style because, again, this one is perfect for all hair textures. You can style it like above with textured, long hair and maybe even adding some mild highlights to it for summer. Or you can style it with a blowout for a vintage-inspired supermodel look.

Hair expert Roman Bond adds, "Layered haircuts are also exceptionally suited for curly hair. Understanding the unique structure and styling needs of curls is paramount. When cutting curly hair, I opt to work with it in its natural, dry state, foregoing straightening methods. This approach allows for a more accurate assessment of the hairs natural tendencies, enabling me to strategically enhance volume, texture, and shape according to the client's preferences and lifestyle." This haircut is sure to be a summer go-to for so many!

Bardot Bangs

Photo via Vladimir Flores/Pexels

Who could forget iconic Bardot bangs? Named after the famous actress who made messy, slept-in bangs iconic, this haircut is everything — especially with this modern, updated cut. It's slightly over-grown side-swept bangs that really help to frame your face and accentuate your features. It's another great look to give you some dimension without trying anything too risky.

Hair expert Renee Valeriesays, "Bardot bangs infuse a cool vibe into any hairstyle. I love how they complement all hair textures seamlessly and quickly enhance a hairstyle's overall look with minimal time to create." Running to make an appointment for this cut ASAP!

I love sappy, sweet-as-candy rom-coms. You know, the ones where two leads spend the entire movie pursuing other people only to realize they were in love with each other the whole time. The movie usually takes place in a big city or a small town (and sometimes both), there's a quirky best friend, and there's always a big declaration of love before the credits roll. And while these straightforward movies are always on my watchlist, I also love the wacky movies that involve hilarious misunderstandings, ridiculous fight scenes, and gravity-defying Dirty Dancing movies (yes, I'm talking about Emma Stone & Ryan Gosling'sCrazy Stupid Love here). Humor always makes a movie even more enjoyable to watch, and A Family Affair is as wacky as they come. The movie reunites Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron, who played opposite each other ten years ago, and this time, Joey King's added into the mix. Here's everything you need to know about the new summer movie.

What is the movie A Family Affair about?

Image via Netflix

Like any good rom com, A Family Affair is all about a surprising romance — just not the kind Zara might be hoping for. When her mother (Nicole Kidman) and her famous actor boss (Zac Efron) fall for each other, their newfound relationship complicates everyone's ideas of sex and identity, and Zara's entire life. And, just like you might expect when your boss and mother hook up, chaotic hilarity ensues.

When does A Family Affair come out?

You can watch A Family Affair on Netflix starting June 28.

Who's in the A Family Affair movie cast?

Image via Netflix

Joey King, Zac Efron, and Nicole Kidman lead this new rom-com, and they're joined by a few of our other favorite actors! A Family Affair also stars Liza Koshy and Kathy Bates.

What does A Family Affair mean?

Image via Netflix

A family affair refers to a situation that's connected to someone's family in one way or another. For me, being an adult has been all about establishing work-life balance, and I'm sure the same is true for Zara. I can't wait to see how this movie's unexpected romance turns everything upside down.

What else did Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron star in?

Image via Netflix

Before they were cast in A Family Affair, Zac Efron and Nicole Kidman played lovers in The Paperboy in 2012. Familiarity and comfort are two super important things in any romantic role, and I can already tell from these first look images that Zac and Nicole not only have awesome chemistry, but they're comfortable enough around each other to just have fun. And that's all we can ask for from a good movie!

What would YOU do if your boss and one of your parents hooked up? Let us know in the comments and on Facebook!
